I don't know about that...but her graph has a steep growth on it....but the acid test is going tobe Yuvraaj, Rajniti, Ajab prem ki gazab kahani, and the one with John.....

Is Katrina Kaif the new Aishwarya Bachchan?

Move over Aishwarya Rai Bachchan! Katrina Kaif could be the new number one actress in Bollywood. Her debut film Boom, in which she stars opposite Amitabh Bachchan, bombed and she was quickly written off, especially as she did not know Hindi.

But acquiring high-profile boyfriend Salman Khan was proved the turning point in her rapid rise to fame. But then one can't play down the fact that the British Asian Kaif's last five films (Namastey London, Partner, Welcome, Race, Singh is Kinng) have all been blockbusters. The turn around has come as a surprise as her voice has been dubbed in all her movies and critics have consistently found her acting and dancing skills wanting.

Is this the ultimate triumph of mediocrity over real talent in beauty-obsessed Bollywood? Kaif herself is surprised at her success: "It is humbling. I am one of the few actors who have been given a second chance in this industry. I am extremely proud of all my films."

well i think shez a gud actress..watch humko deewna kar gaye n namastay london she expresses alottt through her eyes n her expressions r so real..its jst dat she has prob wid hindi due to which her dialouge delivery gets affected but she is surely becomin da new queen of bolly..i wont say da new ashwarya rai as i think ash has her own indivisuality where as kat has her own..she is not replacing ash..dey both r quite beautiful its jst dat kat is young so shez more in dese days..

Kat definetly has big films under her, whereas Ash is slowing down a bit.

But no one can replace Ash B

What people and fans should understand is now the era is changing....like 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and now 2000.

I guess the 90s - SRK, Salman, Amir, Ash, Rani, Priety, Ajay, KAjol etc...they all are slowing down while - new breed - Kat, Kareena, priyanka, Sonam, Deepika, Ranbir, Neil, Abhi, John, Hritik are all coming on to the shelf.

So there is a shelf life for every actor some takes it nicely and some try hard to be where they were.

For Ash - She is slowing down. Her priority after marriage is her In-laws adn her hubby. Thats very good. And she don't mind taking one film at a time.

There's no competitioon mainly because kat hasn't really "acted" in any of her last 5 blockbuster films. She smiles, cries a little, and looks extremely beautiful, but doesn't act. I guess when I see her act, I'll compare her with "act"resses.

honey if it was sumfin to do wid acting den it wuld ve been said " katrina da next kajol or katrina da next rani mukherji" ash has been known mainly coz of her beauty as an actress u cant call ash da queen she has acted well in quite a few films..in films like dil ka rishta ..albela..etc she has only focused on her looks n her acting has been quite mechanical...kat on da other hand has probs wid dialouge delivery due to her not knowing hindi but as i said she delivers alot through her eyes...i admit kat is not a gr8 actress but if sum1 says kat da next ashwarya den it means dat she has proved parallel to ash's beauty not ash's acting...for acting ash is not an ideal person to look forward to..

Maybe, but the only difference is Ash can act and Katrina cant! Forget about act she cant even speak hindi! But I've got to admit she has been VERY VERY lucky! Some how she has ended up with many hit's maybe its the fact that all her movies have been opossite the King Akshay Kumar, or that her BF is Salman, but I seriously think the girl cant act, she showed improvement in Singh Is Kinng, people are just crazy after her cuz she has the looks, but more than her I think struggling actresses like Mannisha Lamba, Esha Deol, even Bips deserve those hit's.

I don't really understand the media's fixation with trying to "replace" actresses with others. Ash is Ash and Katrina is Katrina. They both have their seperate identities, so I don't really understand this whole replacement thing....it's ridiculous!

And we cannot compare the 2 because they are both at different stages in their careers. Ash is a senior, Katrina has been around for a while so she's not a newcomer but she's new in comparison to Ash.

I like Katrina's hardwork, you can tell that she is quite focused. And she seems quite grounded which is nice to know. But her real test as an actress will be Yuvraaj. Her previous films have not been really been performance based as such. People count Humko deewana...and Namaste London but I'm talking about a complete performance. From the promos, Katrina is looking amazing in Yuvraaj. But how her performance will be, well the proof will be in the pudding, once it releases.

But to compare Ash and Katrina is unfair on both of them. You can only compare 2 individuals that actually have started off at the same time or have done relatively the same amount or type of work. Now we cannot compare Deepika to Rani, can we?! It would not make sense. But that's my opinion! :-)
