In my opinion Sa ra ga ma pa show gives too much emphasis on regionial identity of the contestant. Each and everytime a contestant is announced we are told he is from 'Bengal, Orissa etc". This has given rise to tribalis. People are almost encourage to vote for the candidate from their region. The talent has become secondary the region has become uppermost.
The show will never ever produce the best because of tribalism and regionalism. Sa ra ga ma pa should never annouce the region of the contestant..let people vote for the best talent.
Mitika and Shashi lost due this promotion of regionalism.

Reality shows throughout the world always announce (show on the bottom of the screen) what city and state the contestant is from. It is not a problem in most countries, however I guess it is in India. Of course in India, people are always encouraged to vote/support someone based on what region they are from. Often times though, there is always one contestant who is very talented, but at the same time gets enough votes from the region they are from. It is our duty not to take these competitions seriously and not to get butt hurt about it. We should just enjoy whatever is on, and cheer for the talented singers left in Challenge 2009. Go Debojit & Kaushik!

Merit and talent should rule.
Otherwise you are left with mediocracy.
Only countries that rise above tribalism produce outstanding talent. We know that countries based on tribalism are backward.
I cannot cheer for left behind because they are voted by their own. I mourn for the talent lost. I hope and pray Indians rise above tribalism and vote for real talent.
It is sad that show promote extreme tribalism and janta fall for it.

Regionalism does not always work, but it is a powerful tool. My poor Punjab ka Puttar, Survinder ( who is the most entertaining) was kicked out and no regionalism brought him back. Guess he will now go to SVOI or somewhere else and do better.

Punjab votes are being shared amongs few singers on SRGMP and VOI 2 - LJKKDK last week.
Same with votes from Kolkata, W. Bengal or Assam.
When there are more than one show having singers from these regions votes get shared and we don't see huge impact. So Survinder had competition when it came to votes. My views only.
