O.k, I was sitting in my english class yesterday and we all were reading an article in the newspaper which said " Should there be more women in politics?". This struck off a debate in my class.
I was expecting some extremely good views on this topic from the entire class as I personally believe that women need representation in politics. But I was shocked to recieve such streotypical responses from the class, especially the boys. Almost all the boys felt that politics is not meant for women as it is a dirty game and women are too soft hearted to play this game. Alot of them also said that women think by their hearts and not their brains😡😡
There was one boy whose comment really p****d me off. He had said " parliament koi rotiyan banane ki jagah nahi hai". Is this what they think of us?? They think that we are only capable of "making rotis"???(Although I would like to mention that making rotis is not an easy job, it is just not valued by men)
And then I thought, why are these boys even coming to school( guys i'm in class 11), when the education is not helping them? What's a difference between the thinking of an illitrate person living in a village and one of these guys?
I had never expected this kind of response from the so-called "educated" lot of the society.
Why does this happen?? Guys do post your views.

I just dont believe this. Especially the highlighed part. Wow, just imagine....his mother must have worked so hard to feed him day and night and this is what she gets for all the love and care. This is how much he values "making rotis". Only when you live in the west do you realize how much important housework is and how hard it is. Anyway, on a side note, I think women are perfectly capable/intelligent to handle politics. It is indeed sad that those boys, even though they are lucky enough to get a formal education, have such deprecating things to say about women.I want to be positive so I am just hoping that after learning their life's lesson, they regret these words.
BTW how did the debate end? Did any of girls argue against this in class?

Ya most of the girls did........infact I was so enraged that I was literally shouting. But the point is that in my class, there are only 13 girls and 27 boys, so you can imagine what would have happened.
