I've been thinking ........... Skep raised this point before .......... Can Raj be compared to Darcy of Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen ??????

And Kranti to Eliza Bennet ? ?

P&P is my all time fav novel ......... I must have read it a 100 times 😳😳

Here Raj is being proud and Kranti being prejudiced ??????

In the novel too the hero and heroine are from diff strata of society ..... Hero at first, is quite condescending about the heroine and that leaves her prejudiced against him ....... As expected he falls for her and proposes but in a such a way that she takes offense and turns him down ...... later when he helps her family she begins to see him in a new light and falls for him too .......then after many trials and tribulations they are united ......

Raj-Kranti romance is going along on similar lines.... except for the Krantikari angle .....

Any of you guys read the book ????? I'd love to hear your opinion on this .........

Heyy...this is Raksha here...am very new to this section and also the serial...

I am still to get to the core of Raj's character, but I read what he did to Kranti's mamaji and all...🤢

P&P is one of my all time favorites and Darcy, after Rhett Buttler, is my most favorite hero...

You talked about him and I couldn't resist replying here....😳😆...

I am still in no position to judge Raj's character...however, comparing him to Mr.Darcy is too far fetched IMHO....

Kranti has Lizi's traits though....except that she isn't prejudiced against Raj...She has clear evidences against him to dislike him...

Mr.Darcy, would never do what Raj did to a poor and innocent person....He may be everything but not Evil and scheming and moralless...and Raj showed all these 3 characters in the past few episodes....

Mr.Darcy is by heart a beautiful person, only his exterior is a bit rough and tough....Raj, so far didn't show even one sign of possessing a clean and beautiful heart...

In any case its not necessary that every humanbeing start off with a clean and a pristine heart....People who overcome themselves and become good humanbeings, create history and stand as great examples for the mankind...For ex: Emperor Ashoka...

It would be interesting to see how Raj, after alll these things, will come out to be at a position where Kranti will start looking up to him....

Oh Pride and Prejudice is also one of my favourite novels😳..and even though this show is based on the Quit India movement but the main leads do resemble the characters of that novel😳...

Raj here is not negative but of course his ideology is different from the majority just like Darcy😳...the basic plot of P & P was opposites attract😉...thats what will b happening here also😛..

P.S:Raksha welcome to the Forum...Hope to see u much more active as the story progresses😛...

That's a very interesting point.....I see some passing resemblances to the P&P characters as well....but I also agree with Raksh.I in that Raj is much more grey/borderline black than Mr. Darcy....Mr.Darcy was only brusque and rough on the surface...but not as mean as Raj is being.

I think the case with Raj is that he has this unshakeable belief in the British government and how they are supposedly the best thing that could've happened to the country....and to a person who has that much belief in the system, revolutionaries like Kranti and her friends would only appear to be anarchists and 'terrorists'....what adds more fuel to the fire ofcourse is that Kranti just rubs him the wrong way, period😆.....so in his own eyes, Raj feels he's doing the 'right' thing by putting 'criminals' behind bars....and he proabably feels that unfair means are justified because it's all for the 'greater good'. None of which makes it right ofcourse....He also basically seems to be cold and ruthless in general unless it comes to his family or his friends.....only the people he cares about....the rest doesn't seem to matter as much.

I've only watched this show intermittently on and off....so do forgive me if I'm a little clueless about the story😳😆...but this is what I've managed to get out of whatever I watched.

DI.. you are right.. Raj's character has been taken out of Darcy's character sketch, only that he has been given a still meaner twist. The backdrop ably allows the creatives to add more political ambition and ruthlessness to Darcy's character.

To begin with Raj was very much like Darcy, but over time he has become a more exaggerated and negative version of him. But we all know, the end is going to be the same. 😊

@ Raksha ..... agree with you about Mr. Darcy being a person with a good heart ........ I think Raj is too .... only in the past couple of episodes he has gone overboard in becoming a British agent ..... and Kranti too started disliking him only recently .... before that, to her, he was someone who was aping the British and forgetting his roots and she loved bringing him down a peg or two........So i thought a little prejudiced here...

And dear .... am a Rhett butler fan tooo ☺️ 😍

And speaking of P&P ..... something connected to that ...... my all time fav movie "U've got mail" .... where Kathleen Kelly - Meg Ryan is one great P&P fan tooo...... 😍 just speaking about this makes me feel gooooo !!!!!!!

Dont loose heart Vasu ...... Everything will trun out fine ..... the story is reaching that climatic phase wherein Raj will see the reason for the Krantikaris work ......... and then ..... ta....da...... the much awaited romance will begin .... !!!!!!!

....wow guys......I never thought of that...........but yeah......Raj's character resemble a bit...but guys hav u notice since the show started his character is geeting darker and darker ...instead of getting better........that made him lool like a complete villian.he doesn't give a damn.....yaar.forget about love here.....he cares for people who are 'innocet' and he haven't seen but heard by british people.........but he cant even understand the reason y r krantikaris are fighting............he knows laws........cant people ask for freedom......i hope love starts between 2 ...
