Can Punjabi guy get married with non Punj

Im an indonesian Catholic girl who is currently dating with Punjabi's guy...
we both live far from our parents (as in in different country) and we are in love to each other.

could someone tell me if there will be any chances for us to get married together as I know about arrange marriage in Punjabi's culture.
Is there anything that can be done to make them except me in their community and let us get married?
I really don't want to make him get into fight with his parents..

What is the actual reason for the arrange marriage in Punjabi's culture?

Hello shellee, I have read your message and I think there is no harm in marring someone you love, These days inter marriages are openly acceptable in the world. I am a hindu punjabi myself, and we punjabis are really good people. Love is love and nothing else. In the beginning of the message to wrote Sat siri akal, although a catholic girl. If you love this guy, and I think you should get married and live happily for rest of your life. Love is God Gift. You should not refuse a gift given to you by someone and then this great. i don't think it should be too big a problem. But it does depend on his parents and how open minded they are. Have you talked to your boyfriend about this before?

He's a Sikh Punjabi and we have talked about it lately but still come to dead end...
He doesn't know what to do...he thought that it's impossible for us to get married as he just knows 1 couple only who have love marriage instead of love marriage...
I know he's in very difficult situation as his parents force him to accept their arrange marriage but in the other hand we are in love to each other

I don't want to give him more pressure and push him to fight with his parents..

I really dunno wat to do here...

Have anyone knows wat can I do here...
