I'm a tad bit late over here... but hey, let the celebrations continue! š
A century, and still not out! š
When I came onto I-F, I did quickly hear about the retros in a few PM conversations, but my computer was a total loser at the time and so I never got use I-F radio š Luckily a few months later, a friend was kind enough to help me out and pass on the links and timing info... and since then, there's been no looking back! š
I'm thankful for the retro podcasts also - I mean, for people like me that have come on board rather late (early 2008), if the earlier podcasts weren't around, we'd be left sulking about missing out š
I reckon there should be something done to promote the podcasts - something to get more people to check out the podcasts and give them a go š Anyone who appreciates musical gems, they'll be hooked on like the rest of us, and they'll join us for the shows š
How an official Retro Cafe siggy be made after the announcement of each new show? š The siggy can have the theme of the upcoming retro, as well as timings for each region... and if enough of us display the siggy, new people will see it and give the show a try š
Anyways, I must now continue with my bhaashan... Hehehe! š
I PMed Barnali Di just over a month ago to say thanks, but now that we are celebrating the century, we might as well all get together and say thank you to her publicy š
The Retro Cafe show is without a doubt the best radio show at I-F, and in my humble and truthful opinion, it's the best radio show anywhere on this planet š Over here in the UK there is not a single radio channel with a single show that is even a fraction as good as the retros - I say this truthfully š
Anyone who appreciates music, as well as the how the music came about, they'll agree that the show is a goldmine šš¼
One of the reasons why it works so well is because the show is always scripted well, and the ordering and the songs and their accomponying background info flows beautifully š Selecting a great playlist is one thing - but if anyone just threw together a few songs without good scripting, I doubt it would work well. In my humble opinion, the retros are brilliantly made šš¼
Barnali Di doesn't go around saying how difficult it is to put the show together on a regular basis, but seriously, it cannot be an easy task. It definitely takes a lot of effort, and so we all have so many reasons to be thankful to Barnali Di for her dedication, and putting together the show for people like us š¤
In closing I say that the retros just need to keep on happening - there will always be so many awesome songs from the bygone eras that will be waiting to be brought out for the listeners of 2008.
Congrats to Barnali Di and the retro team for the century - here's to (at least) 500 more š
Barnali Di ki jaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! š š š
(PS: Someone please help me with the podcasts - the player just isn't loading even though I've installed Flash š Since the new I-F format has happened, I'm not having any success with them at all The people that I asked for help, I think they are now fed up of me because of my constant whinging and complaining š³ )
God bless.
