Destroying the Lead : Saloni

I agree Saloni need therapy but not for the reasons you alluded to but more because she has some serious insecurities. Early childhood experiences shape our character. In Saloni's maayka she was always treated as second class. Subadra was the pampered princess. Even Samar eloped with Kaveri didn't fulfill the bargain to get a dowry for Saloni. This constant need to be self sacrificing can be construed as the need to compensate for her 'ugliness' to make people love her. Isn't that what the family praises Saloni for her goodness? Narpat loved Saloni but could he stop the abuse that was given to her by Ambika. Most probably she suffered in silence to avoid the backlash to Narpat.

Every-one of her family member abused her when she brought Kalika home, agreed she deserve it but the insult was aimed at her to hurt. No holds were barred to spare some-one feelings.

Who is responsible for Saloni becoming Nahar's wife and a Bahu of that family? Tara selected Saloni, Tara convinced Saloni to marry Nahar when she refused and Tara stood by Saloni after she went to jail. Aditi abused her Tara accepted her. Nahar didn't fall in love at first sight, agreed Nahar loves Saloni now. But he himself deceived her, he was damage goods – wasn't he married before. Even Nahar expectation of goodness from Saloni is of a high standard – give up her child to Tara because his 1^st wife was the cause of Tara not being able to have children. Nahar respects and loves Tara.

Saloni is doing all for Tara because the life she has with Nahar Tara is responsible for it. If Tara didn't push for Saloni to marry Nahar, Nahar would have married Shubdra.

Padma even Aditi has always pointed out that Saloni and Shubdra are middle class not Rajput.

The only person who was the most accepting of Saloni is Neel. He loved her for herself….

That whole self sacrificing for the child is purely aimed at gaining acceptance in that family. Look at the treatment of the family of Tara – she's the pampered Bahu. Tara gets away with murder in that family everyone condones it but Saloni has to be more understanding.

Saloni suffers in silence and swallows her insults because there is no other alternative. I watch that scene yesterday that was humiliation. What did everyone do all the elders? They try to reason with Tara.

Yes, Saloni has to become angry with Tara to break those insecurities. She has to tell Tara – No More. I am important too. I matter, I am not expendable. Saloni in trying to save that child could have died – I believe she told Tara that she rather die than let anything happen to that child.

In real life also we see that those women who throw tantrums are the ones who people - even elders - bow down to because they don't like confrontations in the family. The same thing applies here. Because Kaveri and Tara are both selfish drama queens everyone keeps quiet and the expectations are from people like Saloni to keep quier and keep swallowing insults and whatever else is thrown at them without doiing an 'ufff'.

I too want to see Saloni fighting for herself. She should have gone up to Tara and told her that if Tara had informed her earlier she would not have risked her and her baby's life to go and save Advitya. ((I know this sounds cruel but this is just to make Tara wake up and smell the coffee). Personally I would not wish harm to anyone's child.
