SET television will soon see a major overhaul in programming. The first show to get axed was Balaji's Kuch Is Tarah. This romantic comedy is to be replaced by Aathwa Vachan from 1st September. Ironically it was this same show, which was being touted as one of the success stories of the channel till a few months back.

The Balaji creative head, Nivedita Basu, had hailed its different story line as a reason for its success. A source admitted that there is a perception problem with fiction in Sony. According to lead actress, Dimple Jhangiani TRP's had dropped a lot in the last two weeks. The channel head wanted to turn the show into a drama, which Ekta was not ready for so the show is being yanked off air.

All attempts by the channel to shift to their strength to the non-fiction zone during weekdays has also has also failed as Waar Parivaar and Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii Yaar have not clicked. According to Sanjay Upadhaya, Creative director and Head of Fiction, SET, "We will return to the fiction format soon."

According to insiders the channel is also not too happy with the rating of their other shows as well and that includes Waqt and Sujata. The basic storyline of Sujata is being changed and nobody knows as yet whether the audience will accept it.

Even the weekend band is being changed; Comedy Circus 2 will be replaced by Comedy Kaanti Ki Taakar. Dus Ka Dam will soon be replaced by Indian Idol towards the middle of next month. Albert Almeida, the Business Head, Sony Entertainment Television has confirmed the same.

finally Dus ka Dum is going Kaput. this is what salman gets,in 21 episodes they had to call many big industry big names, but they failed miserably to keep up the first week trps of the show. Shows concept is great but people are bored with it already.

duskadum is not going or gone kaput, it was always going to be for 3 seasons and they are already planning season 2.😉
when this season started only we knew that duskadum will go off air mid september because that was the quota for the first season and that indian idol will replace it.
people are not bored with it as yet, its one of the more successful shows on sony.
salman alloted dates for only these many episodes, he also has to shoot his films.
he will be back for season 2 next year.
