It all started in 1995 with DDLJ when Shahrukh, the star became immensely popular as RAJ,his charisma more than anything appealed to everybody,he became a household name, every boy wanted to be like him coz every girl wanted a guy like him every mother wanted a son like him mainly because he was so adorable and yet identifiable, he became huge in all age groups ranging from 6 to 60 (in both the sexes)and it kept on growing day after day ,month by month thus making him a phenomenon more than a actor or a superstar and was eventually crowned THE KING.
At that time the industry was looking for an icon, the then Emperor (Amitabh Bachchan)-angry young man was no longer young and had lost his charm way back in the late 80's and thus the new crowned king came like a fresh breeze and swept away the crowds, took the empire to new and unachieved heights, in the path along he had his share of falls but each time he stood back and rose higher. He brought life to his charecters, the amount of dedication, passion and hardwork he put was evident on the screen it came out as an bundle of atomic energy.Everybody laughed when he laughed, when he cried on screen everybody had their eyes wet,if he was hurt everybody felt the pain,He romanced through his eyes into the hearts of billions.Apart from his professional life his personal life is also quite an inspiration, he is a good family man a faithful husband and a caring father, he is loyal to his friends. He is known for his humor, wit, intelligence, enthusiasm, energy levels,self-lessness ,business skills all packaged in one a very rare find ,but their he was, an idol for some and an inspiration for many.
Apparently what goes Up also has to come down, now after 12 years of kingdom, when THE KING certainly had the most prosperous year of his reign he is facing threats to his rule like never before their is competition all round from all corners.
His closest competition being one of his oldest competitor and the other the latest, namely Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan.
Aamir khan probably one of the better actors of todays generation has single handedly merged sensible and commercial cinema in Bollywood, his sense of good films has been incredible,he understands everything about film making both in front and behind the camera.aamir has been the contender for the title from the very beginning but never reached there, probably because he was very selective, private and lacked the social skills but now he is trying to be reachable, all of a sudden we see aamir very often in the media and press, and ofcourse ' the blog ' is it too late for him ?
Hrithik's got the looks to die for , physique to envy, and loads of talent be it his acting skills or dancing he is remarkable, he no doubt is the strongest contender to be rightfully crowned The Heir but one thing he lacks is experience and the fact that at an very early stage of his career he has become very selective and more often seen with his home production, he was not very successful with romantic and comedy roles, so how versatile is he ?
Thats not the end of worries for SRK , The Emperor strikes back with his son Abhishek to bring back the lost glory back to the family, he would do anything possible to promote his son, but unfortunately Abhishek probably lacks what it takes to reach where his father left.BUt you never know!
Then finally here comes a action hero turned Comic hero, a wanna be king, Akshay Kumar , who has a tremendous box office record giving back to back hits like no one before and ever growing global popularity amongst masses.
SRK's recent spat with salman,( who could have been a contender but never cared because he was busy with all other things) is no good sign, salman caters his own set of very loyal fans and being on salman's list is not good for anybody's health on the contrary being in his good books is always a huge bonus.
SRK's recent show Kya AAp Paanchvi Paas, was a dud.
Now it comes down to the response of SRK's next two releases this year Billoo Barber & Rab ne bana di jodi also his world tour, Temptations reloaded.
So, the real question is WILL THE KING BE ABLE TO FIGHT BACK AS A WINNER AND HOW LONG WILL HE BE ABLE TO HOLD HIS FORT??
