why South India has poor representation in SRGM?

I think most of the south indians don't watch hindi musical programs. so, channel can't gain too many votes from south. therefore they avoid 2 take ppl from south. finally, all the reality shows r based on money rather than telant hunt. even i've seen many south indian musical programs. the different is, their stage is small but they've got wondeful participent😛

It is more because there are many reality shows in south India trying to promote the talent in South.. Infact the standard of the show is way higher than SRGMP.. One has to be classically trained and should have done atleast 3 concerts before participating in the show.. The show has exclusive rounds for raga based songs where they even have to identify the raag and sing a keertanai based on the raga.. Its a beautiful show!! People are much happy with the regional shows rather than going across the states.. This show is purely based on talent and great stalwarts like Sudha Chandran, Nithyashri grace the show with their presence to give judgment.. Even Hemachandra if you see is doing very well in Telugu movies and is getting lot of song contracts.. Well, people will only go where they are getting the opportunity..

The regional shows are much much better than the all India talent hunt.. This I am not saying considering just the tamil channels, but also Marathi, Bengali where only talent is preferred!!

I agree with you Indra and others. In the present SRGMP there is at least one contestant from Hyderabad. Her name is Pallavi Suri. I think she is good singer but unfortunately she is in Eklavya Gharana and no mentors have selected her yet. She has not got a chance to show her talent. Maybe coz Zee would not get too much votes from South so they are not promoting her.

Try watching Asianet's Idea Star. Very Best on quality - Singers & Judging. They offer 1 Crore each for male & female contestants. AFAIK, this is the best musical show on earth.
