'Singh is Kinng' show disrupted in Amritsar

umm i knew the producers will use articles like these to publicize their movie..i am expecting a lot of exaggerated articles in coming days *sigh*

I have no intention of watching this movie but given how Bollywood has always portrayed demeaning and over the top caricatures of sikhs in the past, i am hoping the movie is a very small step in the right direction...

Firstly they were moaning about akshays bearded and i know plenty of people who being sikhs and wearing turbans do not have a full beard the thing i disagree with is the fact that whys sikh name being used etc in a comedy film nothing to do with sikhism.Akshays films are comedy and some of the stuff i do not like anyways which puts me off him and to use singh and references to sikhism in comedy i find stupid and do not see the point which is why when i saw the trailors decided i am not going to watch it. However i do think stopping showings is a bit far but guess sometimes it does happen extremists everywhere.

Really, people don't undersatnd that this is a 'movie' so it's just for entertainment, you don't freaking have to have a fit over it. 8-)

Anyways, people can try to bring this movie down but I know for a fact that it's going to SUPER Hit leaving audiences breath-less.

Extremists are everywhere today so I will not waste my time over the outbreak in Amritsar, I am from Amritsar and my brother is in the police there so will have to ask my family back home to know if the above mentioned article is true and actually as extreme as stated.😳

Yea I agree, its just a movie, no need to have a heart attack over itt, why would they want to insult sikh's, they want their movie to be a hit, not get a law suit filed against them. Im a sikh myself, and dont get why those ppl are creating problems, there actions wont stop the move from becoming a hit :) Which im sure it will

i agree..but i just don't hope it's like "jo bole so nihaal" or anything like the kind of movies where i feel like being a sikh is funny versus something to be proud of. this movie seems different, but in the past..movies that revolve around punjabi families r really degrading and it's upsetting to see sikh people being portrayed as loud, exxaggerated characters, or people who just randomly start to do bhangra in the street
