Everybody knows about Salman Khan's passion for painting. A few days ago, Salman painted a portrait of the late Raj Kapoor and gifted it to the legendary actor and filmmaker's grandson Ranbir.
Incidentally, Salman is a great fan of Raj Kapoor. With his newfound passion for painting, he wanted to show his respect and admiration for the legendary filmmaker by gifting a portrait of Raj Kapoor to his family.
So he made the portrait and was only looking for the right opportunity to gift it.
And Sallu got his opportunity a few days ago when he learnt that Ranbir Kapoor and his girlfriend Deepika Padukone would be guests on his show Dus Ka Dum on August 1.
Sensing a perfect opportunity to gift the portrait, Sallu immediately sent the painting first to Raj Kapoor's wife Krishna, to seek her approval.
Says a source, "Salman wanted Krishna Kapoor's approval on the portrait as he wanted to be doubly sure that his work of art must be willingly accepted by the family and not offend their sensibilities.
He did not want to go wrong as he immensely respects Raj Kapoor."
However, Salman had no reason to worry as Krishna Kapoor loved the portrait. The painting was then sent back to Salman, who finally gifted it to Ranbir on the sets of Dus Ka Dum, which incidentally has been erected on the first floor of RK Studios in Chembur.
A pleasantly surprised Ranbir was almost moved to tears on receiving this gift. He has now put up the painting at the RK Cottage, which is a special cottage built beside the RK Studio in the same premises.
"The RK Cottage is very special as Raj Kapoor used to write his scripts and spent all his time working on his films there.
Recently, this cottage was reconstructed by Sony Pictures after they decided to host Dus Ka Dum at the RK Studios.
