| Producer Subhash Ghai and director Satish Kaushik are ensuring that SHAADI SE PEHLE deserves nothing but the best. Two weeks ago, music composer Himesh Reshammiya recorded a song in the voice of pop star Daler Mehndi. Now Ghai and Kaushik have hired the services of a topnotch music video director, Anthony D'Souza [Tony], to film the song in question. What prompted the makers to hire a music video director to execute the song? "Since it's a special number, it makes sense to hand over the reins of this track to someone who specializes in the field. Tony is one of the leading names in the music video circuit and we zeroed in on him because both Subhash-ji and I feel that the song ought to be filmed in a completely new style," Satish Kaushik informs me. Please continue. "Don't we entrust the responsibility of styling or stunts to professionals? So why not entrust songs to those who understand and handle it best? New people come in with novel ideas and it only adds value to a project… Even in Hollywood, you can't expect Steven Spielberg to handle every department himself. He relegates authority to experts," he enthuses. Although the track has been rendered by Daler Mehndi, it won't be filmed on the popular singer, but on the principal cast of the film: Akshaye Khanna, Aftab Shivdasani and Ayesha Takia. "We haven't thought of including Daler yet. Perhaps, we may film an entirely different version on Daler for promotional reasons," the jovial director adds. Meanwhile, the director is gung-ho about the film. "SHAADI SE PEHLE is amongst my best films. It's a zabardast comedy, a genre I haven't attempted before. I've enjoyed making it… and working with Akshaye Khanna was a pleasure. He's an amazing actor," he smiles. |
