Of the recent ones, Kuruvi's songs are pretty good!

Except the one with Yogi B and his group. The Happy New year song was a big let down after Polladhavan's "Engeyum Eppodhum".

Every time the "Mozha Mozhannu yamma yamma" song plays, my li'l one and I start dancing together some kuthu steps. I heard the same thing from my friend and my sis. The kids seem to love this song.

Jeyan Kodaan Music Review: Behindwoods

T.G.Thyagarajan's ( Satyajothi) movies have always been appreciated for being very 'clean'. In that sense, this movie is also being happily looked forward to. The story seems to tackle the small conflicts that arise when the dreams and aspirations of the lead trio clash after their lives intertwine! Vidyasagar has scored six hummable songs for the movie.

Naan varaindhu vaittha
Vocals: Hariharan and Madhushree, Lyrics: Yugabharathi

The opening sarangi notes are gentle and suggest the mood of the song itself--that of longing. Fine expressive singing by Hariharan. The sarangi follows delightfully in places. Even the interludes have a rich depth to them. The song is basically about how love transforms the way you look at even mundane things. Hariharan lets each line taper off with a lovely' sangati' which should not be missed. The lady sings well too, but is sometimes high-pitched which could have been toned down.

Orey oru naal
Vocals: Benny Dayal, Lyrics: Vaali

In a way this song offers an explanation for the title of the movie. Vaali stresses the need to reinvent oneself continually to enjoy life in all its true colours. Light-hearted singing by Benny Dayal. The song has a heavy rhythm orientation to it. The instruments could have been just a tad softer. Maybe this is a dance item. And Vaali has crafted the song so well that it stands up to the rigorous beat.

Instruments like the guitar, flute etc; have been used in a 'tinkling' fashion to suggest the actual 'pitter patter' of raindrops themselves! The lyrics seem to evoke a mood of simple nostalgia. Karthik has sung it well too, as he usually does. This song takes a little time to grow on you. Could move into the charts soon.

Adhai koodavaa

Vocals: Sriram Parthasarathy, Lyrics: Kabilan

A very melodious song with equally pleasing violin accompaniment. The singer seems to tenderly recall some past incidents .With their high-pitched movement, the instruments also seem to join in this' seeking' so to speak! The beats, somewhat urgent in their articulation, appear as if they too want to jolt the memories of the listener. An effortless rendering by Sriram Parthasarathy.

Suttrivarum boomi
Vocals: Sadhana Sargam, Lyrics: N.Muthukumar

A light number by Sadhana Sargam. The ambitious outpourings of a young girl who thinks the world is her oyster! 'Koyamputhur kusumbu, Kovilpatti thimiru' are funny generalizations and one hopes no one takes offence to them! Sadhana is her melodious self. The refrain' chan chana chan' is lilting. But the different musical pieces don't seem to blend well in this song. So it does take a hit where melody is concerned. Maybe Bhavana's charm could light up the song on screen.

Verdict:

In a way, Vidyasagar has not really let the listener down. All the male singers have sung with aplomb. Only the last song leaves you unimpressed. But Vidyasagar's creativity has also not come to the fore here. He's capable of much more. Anyway, its a pleasing album, with a couple of chart climbers.

Too tell the truth none of these songs are pleaseing really didn't like any off the songs......I heard about this movie story i think this movie might a flop

Subramaniapuram Music Review

Subramaniapuram - Provides a fresh feel
IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, May 28, 2008]

James Vasanthan, a popular television anchor, is also a talented musician. Debutant director Sasikumar has unearthed the musical talent of James Vasanthan in 'Subramanipuram'.

The director, who has churned out a retro classic (set in 1980s), has managed to extract five scintillating songs from James which are heart-rending.

The good use of rhythm and a mix of melody and peppy beats, the album have songs which are sure to top audio charts. What more, the debutant music composer has introduced several new voices, who provides a fresh feel.

'Subramanipuram' audio is refreshing and sure to catch the imagination of the listeners. All credit to James Vasanthan for utilizing the opportunity well to come up with catchy numbers.

Kangal Irandaal (Belly Raj, Deepa Miriam)

A catchy classical melody this is. Lyricist Thamarai lends grace to the song with her lyrics. The song set on a classical raaga has western interludes in between. James Vasanthan's delectable use of the vocals and rhythm work out wonders. The good use of flute in between is noteworthy.

Madura Kulunga (Velmurugan, Suchitra, Madurai Banumathi & group)

A rural song. Laced with ethnic beats, the song recreates the ambience of a temple festival. James Vasanthan understands of the rural music and the fusion with western stuff doesn't prevent one from raising his/her eyebrow. An enthusiastic number, the description of the local festival by Yughabarathy is attractive.

Kadhal Siluvaiyil (Shankar Mahadevan)

Shankar Mahadven has proved that he is equally skilled in rendering soft melodies. The songs, penned by Yugabharathy, which expresses the sufferings one undergoes after falling in love, has good use of wind instruments. James Vasanthan has allowed the vocals to dominate the music, which is a rarity these days.

Theme music

James Vasanthan has made the East meet West in the theme music. The pacy musical score has a mix of Indian and Western instruments at the right mix.

Theneeril Snehitham (Benny Dayal)

A song with peppy beats and English rap. The song takes the listeners to the music culture prevailed in west in 1980s. Pacy musical score and the catchy rhythm created with percussion instruments strike the hearts of the listeners. Benny chips in with his best.

All credit to James Vasanthan for coming up with high quality music considering this to be his maiden venture on big screen.

These songs are enjoyable ones didn't drown me down😆. These songs you all have to hear😃

Sathyam Music Review

Sathyam - Yet another stunner from Harris Jayaraj
IndiaGlitz [Monday, July 28, 2008]

Harris Jayaraj is proving to be a rare gem in Tamil Cinema. He speaks less and his songs do the rest. Right from his first film 'Minnale' till 'Sathyam', Harris has never compromised on quality and has successfully belted out chartbusters one after another.

'Sathyam', the 25th film from his stable, is indeed very special. It has right mix of hip-hop, melody and kuthu songs. He has experimented with new sounds and new voices. A shrewd thinker, Harris has intelligently used the voices of Premji Gangaiamaran and Rahul Nambiyar.

The additional rhythm and the Chinese interludes in a couple of songs display his mastery in Tamil film music.

'Chellame Chellamae' (Balaram, Bombay Jayashree, Sunitha Sarathy)

This is a song to watch out for in the album. A typical Harris number, 'Chellamae Chellamae' has Harris' favorite singer Bombay Jayashree at her best. A melodious number, the song has a lot of sheen thanks to Jayashree's classical touch. Naveen joins the party later and excels at what he does best. A soothing melody, which has become a rarity these days, 'Chellamae' is a song that's like a fresh evening breeze on a sunny day. Chinese preludes and interludes work well with this song. This is song is soo dame hot.....i listen to this song day and night cant wait until the video comes out the its going to me more hotter😳

Ennanbe (Sadhana Sargam, Beney Deyal)

Seemingly an extension of the 'Chellamae' song, this number has catchy lyrics that dwells a lot on romance. Harris comes up with new sounds that stick to heart immediately. Sadhana Sargam is the perfect choice to render the song as she has given her heart and soul to the number, which is appealing.

Paal Pappali (Naveen, Mahathi)

A kuthu number from Harris is a rarity. However, having proved his mastery in coming up with melody and western acoustics, Harris has got an opportunity to show his skills at a pacy kuthu number. Hats off to him as he manages to render a song that is mind-boggling. Rahul Nambiyar is a bundle of energy and his style is with a lot of enthusiasm.MY number one favouirte song i go crazy when i listen to this one...I always dance for this song....its soo good to listen to😳

Aaradi Kaatre (Hariharan)

Harris has proved once again with ease his mettle in coming up with songs on catchy instrumentation using only drums and guitars. Hariharan's melodious voice coupled with Harris's mastery on creating soft numbers provides a fresh feel. This is a song that will woo music-buffs big time.

Ada Gada Gada (Premji Gangaiamaran)

Premji Gangaiamaran has proved his mettle as an actor. Born in a family of musicians, Premji Gangaiamaran has proved that he is an equally good singer. This is a trendy number with hip-hop music and rap interludes and is sure to become the anthem among youngsters. Premji's vocals blend well with the music. With catchy lyrics and racy beats, Harris Jayaraj oozes with energy in this song.

'Sathyam' comes across as a catchy album and Harris has given his heart out to package it with the right mix of songs. With good vocals and perfect rhythms, 'Sathyam' songs would be remembered by music-lovers for a long time to come.

'Sathyam' is one more jewel in Harris's crown. These songs are sure thread for us Harris fans......that includes me i love thesse songs..........simply awesomme👏👏👏
