Sanjay Dutt shot an item song for once-upon-a-time rival Anil Kapoor for free, in Shortcut

Sanjay Dutt has extended the olive branch to Anil Kapoor. He has not just shot for an item song for Anil Kapoor's home production Shortcut but he also postponed his shooting schedule in South Africa by a day to complete the number — all this after a supposed infamous rivalry between both of them.

It seems eons ago, Dutt got upset with some uncharitable remarks made by Kapoor against his family. Though now Kapoor denies having said so, for a long time, the actors had a cold war between them.

Time, it seems is the greatest healer, as stings of the past completely forgotten, Sanjay Dutt, who according to his company's CEO Dharam Oberoi, has his dates booked till 2009 for acting assignments, took time off from his busy schedule, this week, to do an item song for Anil Kapoor's Shortcut, which is nearly complete. The song also featuring Anil Kapoor (he is making a guest appearance in his own film) and Amrita Rao was shot at a breakneck speed by choreographer Bosco-Caesar. Dharam Oberoi, CEO of Sanjay Dutt Productions, informs, "Sanjay Dutt rushed back to Mumbai for two days from the Bahamas only to shoot the song for Anil's film. But the song could not be completed in time. He was to leave for South Africa to shoot for another film on Wednesday night. But he postponed his trip to South Africa by a day to complete the song." What's more, Dutt even refused to charge a penny for the number, although the Kapoors insisted on paying.

The Dutt-Kapoor-Rao item number was wrapped up on Thursday. And Dutt flew off for a long schedule in South Africa a day late.
