Mumbai: The honours were near-equally
divided between Mumbai's Yash Raj Films and Chennai's Mani Ratnam
when the Technical Awards for the 50th Filmfare Awards
were announced. Yash Raj scion Aditya Chopra won the Best Story and Best Dialogue Awards for the year's biggest grosser, Veer-Zaara. In addition, Rameshwar S Bhagat
and Dwarak Warrier bagged the Best Editing and Best Sound Design Awards respectively for Yash Raj's first action flick Dhoom.
Chennai maestro Mani Ratnam's Yuva won him the Best Screenplay Award while Sabu Cyril (Best Art Direction) and Vikram Dharma (Best Action) notched up two more
for the same movie.
Another southern virtuoso, A R Rahman, will take home the Best Background Score Award for Swades.
The Best Cinematography Award was won by Christopher Popp for Lakshya.
The trophies will be presented at the awards ceremony to be held on February 26 at the MMRDA grounds in the Bandra-Kurla Complex. TNN
