couldn't stop laughing when this person on tv said this....and that bjp should come to power....

it was funny...but more than i was surprised to hear how ignorant these people are of whats happening around the world....why don't they think about it rather than getting influenced by these small-time politicians as well as the bigger ones....its not as if the gov't was getting bored...and didn't have enough black money...so they decided to hike the prices...why doesn't the aam janta realize that it is happening around the world

in the past couple of months...our (canadian) gas prices have gone up like anything...same with the states....but we don't come out on the streets and start protesting or say anything like if liberal was in power this wouldn't have happened....we know that there is nothing our government can really do...otherwise they will lose money...if prices of something are going up around the world...should we really blame our gov't (well leaving aside the obvious one šŸ˜›)

I agree with you. Crude oil prices have gone up. What can any government do other than hiking the price. Is BJP going to dig and pump the oil wells in individual houses? Opposition parties have got nothing else other than criticizing.

No party is saint, but opposition and also supporters like CPM should bear in mind that certain issues are to acted as per the demand and not as per fancy.

The best way to beat the price is to paddle our vehicles. Good for health, easy on purse and best for global warming. šŸ˜‰

Let's get back to the age where our transport was petrol free, bicycles, tricycles, cycle rickshaw ......no chariots, that is cruelty to animals.

Justified price hike or not is immaterial and irrelevant since the opposition is oblivious of, and in total denial of the world commodities market and are behaving as illiterate idiots. I wish someone would pay attention to the plight of the animals being used by the BJP and other opposition parties in the protest against the gasoline price hikes.

The animals being used to pull carts are clearly in distress …they are being shown on the Indian News Channels, totally disoriented and foaming at the mouth. What is wrong with the frigging overweight, fat, obese politicians of India that are piling on the carts that these poor animals are being foced to tote? Maybe these fat politicians should be harnessed to pull the same carts they are forcing the animals to in that heat of Delhi. Where is Menaka Gandhi when the animals really need her????😔 😔

Nice topic AamšŸ‘ uff Mango !

It is very tough to make some one understand about inflation, sensex, bulls , index points..international crude oil prices when the palak, mirchi and oil prices in their gully(street) shop increase terribilly.....it is even very tough to understand the increase in the price of dal, chawal and basic stuff terribilly...In the present context it is very tough for a lower middle class person to read daily dose of food. This condition is making them hungry and you know Mango ji ! A HUNGRY MAN IS AN ANGRY MANšŸ˜†

Government has to take some measures to bring the prices of basic essential commodiites down.

Cheers,

You completely misunderstood whats been happening in India. You are not to be blamed as you are completely unaware.

Government shall be blamed for following reasons:

1. Everyone knew that the prices are gonna soar too high. Government did not take any measures to find the oil or gas sources in India or find an alternative energy source.

2. The taxes on oil products are one amongst highest in India. They are around 35% of the prices even after marginal reduction. Now consider that Petrol was costing Rs. 34 and 35% of that i.e. Rs. 11 per litre goes to government, they increased price to Rs. 52 so 35% comes to Rs. 20/-. Now the government can afford to give Rs. 6-7 as subsidy. But they are not reducing the taxes.

3. The previous increase in rates was when crude was at USD 70, later government did not even take any steps to help the oil companies against rising prices.

4. We are big economies and we must put pressure on OPEC countries to be in their limits. They cant just reap money from us and buy car number plates for millions of dollars

However I dont think there would have been big difference with BJP, except that they had called for investment in oil exploration and buying out oil fields in other countries😃

Ignoring all the politics and just looking at their functioning style. If you look closely at the last 60 years in the Oil industries decisions, yes Congress is to be blamed for the mess we are in India right now

Congress always used to put a bureacrat in charge of ONGC with hardly any decision to the industry, for that person decision A and decision B would only be differentiated based upon who is cheaper and who is going to provide extra incentives šŸ˜‰ šŸ˜‰ , rarely were there decisions based upon long term vision. There were examples of Indian flaring away billions of dollars of resources just b'cos we had a long term vision issue.

That changed when BJP came to power and Ram Naik put a petroleum guy in charge of ONGC

But this has very little value to the people of India since India found a better legislor and decided to choose to vote for a dancer/comedian named Govinda Ahuja over Ram Naik

so I would say blame is on Indian public, then Congress and then everyone else for the mess that Indian Oil Industry finds itself in, but then what do I know? perhaps the secularistic tag that Congress carries around is more important to people than the value of those decisions that BJP made when in charge šŸ˜†
