Sarkar Raj which is not doing well at the box office is being claimed as a hit by the makers and the team of the film by splashing posters around the country which call it a hit and its actors are calling it a hit in interviews while collections tell a different story.

The team of Sarkar Raj should know better that a film can never become a hit like this and are probably trying to get some extra mileage so the public believes its a hit and they get a few extra footfalls but the public is far too smart for this and are keeping well away from the film. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Distributors around India give their views on Sarkar Raj:

Avtar Singh Kochar Of Gunjan Films and Dolly Films, Delhi

"As Per my knowledge Sarkar Raj was sold for 6 crore in Delhi,UP and Punjab and will only be able to recover 3 crore. Since the film is backed by a corporate giant they are scared to accept the fact that the film is a flop."

Shrikant Sethi of Roop Rajat Cine Vision, Rajasthan

"The Rajasthan distributor, Sahara One will lose almost 50% of its investment. On Thursday 12th June , Sarkar Raj collected just Rs700 in its morning show at Galaxy, Jaipur. How can the film be declared a hit."

Mahendra Soni of Venkatesh 2000, West Bengal

"The film is doing fairly well at multiplexes but the collections at single plexes range between 8-10%. I think the film sold was for 1.25 crore in West Bengal but looking at its collections, it will only be able to recover about 80-85 lakhs. The collections are much below Mr Amitabh Bachchan's other movies . In fact Bhoothnath collected more money than Sarkar Raj."

Chk this
And 1 more thing
AAMIR is a low budget movie (around 2 crores)
and it had already collected 1 crore in its first week!!
And I don't think they have claimed anything like AAMIR is a big HIT or something, even in the promos they are just quoting film personalities' response on the film n nothing else!!!
thnx

I totally agree with you...word of mouth publicity for Aamir is tremendous, therefore, its collections have increased...Aamir is a low budget film and has done business of above 1 crore in week 1 itself...main point, the info im providing is from the same site the above article has been taken from, that is, boxofficeindia.com😉

Hmm. Interesting. But I don't think a director like RGV needs lies to prove his capabilities... 😊 The critics reviews were kinda positive...be it Anupama Chopra or Rajeev Masand...the only complains were the repeating camera angles and stuff...but they liked the movie!
I am kinda confused by this article!

who are these people commenting? I have never heard their name and what's the source?

I had a look at IndiaFM and it says for Sarkar Raj

"Weekly Gross (INR) - 20,40,14,150
Total Gross (INR) - 20,40,14,150
Total Gross (UK) - 3,31,917
Total Gross (USA) - $ 8,33,005
"

for Jannat (which is supposed to be a massive hit

"Weekly Gross (INR) - 43,59,069
Total Gross (INR) - 13,66,91,816
Total Gross (UK) - 1,55,622
Total Gross (USA) - N.A"

Bhootnath

"Weekly Gross (INR) - 8,63,095
Total Gross (INR) - 12,33,40,719
Total Gross (UK) - 2,08,194
Total Gross (USA) - $ 3,30,246
"

seriously Indian journalists are cuckoo, they need to devise a good system to actually figure out what the collection is. the way things work right now, any tom, dick and harry can come up with their own numbers depending on their biases and their conveniences .

first of all like above said no one claimed Aamir is a hit but whatever ppl r saying is based on the collections which are quit good and the fact nothing is self claimed

and i think biggest success for Aamir is that it competed with a big budget like sarkar raj, which released ALL OVER THE WORLD and in INDIA with many prints obviously on the other hand Aamir got release only in India with few prints with a newcomer actor and director on the other hand Sarkar Raj had so called Big stars, Baacchans and RGV......inspite of all these facts ppl liked Aamir more......infact i will say inspite of being overshadowed by Sarkar Raj, and lost into crowded industry , Aamir overshadowed Sarkar Raj and showed its Existence .......and that is not easy for a small budget and newcomer's movie ....

and may be Bacchan fans are jealous😉 that Bacchans got a tough competetion by newcomers, small bugdet, not publicised movie like SR and got better reviews than SR😆...and got much attention by ppl

This is with regards to the budget of the film...........Sarkar has a huge budget i think....,More than Bhootnath and Jannat !
