Another scene i am remembering......

Before Raya's wedding with Rebecca when Raya was literally drowning in the memories of Nadia & yearning and burning for Nadia...Ganga got frustrated and asked Raya....

" The one in whose memory you are burning..you hadn't even spent much time with her.."

Ganga was looking at time logically: How can someone consume you this completely when you barely had enough time together? Raya's answer rejects that entire idea.

Raya smiled sadly and had replied..." Time means nothing.... Sometimes you can be with someone for your entire life and not get the happiness that you get by being with someone for sometime for your entire life"

He wasn't measuring Nadia by the amount of time he had with her. He's measuring her by what those moments did to him.

He could spend years with someone and remain emotionally untouched. But Nadia gave him something he had never experienced before...the feeling of being alive without having to perform Raya. With her, he wasn't merely the gangster, the brother, the man who had to control everything. He was simply a man who could laugh, desire, hurt, be vulnerable and actually like the person he was becoming.

And that makes the line painfully relevant to his wedding.

He's not burning because he is losing a few months or a few stolen encounters. He's burning because those few moments have become his entire emotional life.

There is also something deeply tragic in the fact that Ganga, who has spent Raya's whole life beside him, asks this question.

He's saying something much sadder:

Sometimes a lifetime is only time.Sometimes a moment becomes a lifetime.

That is why Raya's longing felt less like lust before the wedding and more like grief for a life he already knew he would never get to live...He wasn't only grieving that he was losing Nadia. He was grieving because he knew exactly what he was about to do to the one woman he wanted to give everything to.

Again I went back to his line to Nadia....

"Some people we love knowingly, and then there is someone whose love becomes our entire life"

Nadia entered that room already believing she knows what Raya is. She had heard the stories,the womanizer, the gangster, the man who takes what he wants. So when he arrived, she assumed the worst. Her decision to slit her wrist is not simply about fear of physical intimacy; it is about her refusal to surrender her dignity on someone else's terms.

And then Raya did something completely contrary to the image she had constructed in her head.

He didn't touch her.

He covered her with his coat. He noticed the injury. He got her treated. He let her sleep safely on his bed while he remained nearby. And eventually,once she woke up, he told her that all he wanted from her was the truth.

That changed everything.

Because the scene establishes something crucial about Raya: he may be sexually reckless, morally compromised and deeply toxic, but he is not a man who believes a woman's body is his right. His darkness has boundaries. Consent is one of them.

And interestingly, the scene also reveals Nadia to Raya.

Until then, he may have seen her as a beautiful woman who could be useful to his mission. But here he discovered something much more significant: this woman would rather hurt herself than betray her own dignity. Her fear didn't make her submissive; it made her fiercely self-respecting.

So their first real connection isn't physical attraction.

It is recognition.

Nadia realized, "He isn't the monster I was told he was."

Raya realized, "She isn't a woman I can control."

And perhaps that's the foundation of why he eventually fell so deeply for her.

Because Nadia was one of the first people in his life who didn't surrender to Raya. She stood before him with her dignity intact.

Later when they became physically intimate for the first time, it's Nadia who made the first move....

That scene doesn't merely begin their love story.It begins by destroying the illusions they had about each other...

Also the spit and slap scene.. she just doesn't fear raya😂
