You remember that scene when Raya travelled to meet Nadia bcz he just couldn't live without her....By that time Nadia had stepped away...

Oh, that conversation is the emotional thesis of Raya and Nadia. 💔

When he saw Nadia his line, "I never thought someone could forget me so easily," is actually so vulnerable for a man like him. He is accustomed to being unforgettable...people fear him, want him, obey him. And yet the one person whose memory matters to him, he feared may have moved on.

And Nadia's "You have come too far..." is so restrained. She isn't saying I don't love you anymore. She's saying, Look at where your life has brought you. Look at everything that stands between us.

Then Raya admits something that almost sounds like a confession to himself:

He said that earlier he used to think love was just longing, that when people suffered for someone, what they really missed was the feeling.

And now he is that person.

He finally understands that sometimes you don't just miss the feeling.

You miss the person.

And then Nadia tries to do what she has been doing all along i.e protect him from making things worse.

You shouldn't have come.

Don't make this harder.

Rebecca is necessary for your life.

And Raya's answer is devastating:

"That's life, Nadia. Some people we love knowingly... and then there is someone whose love becomes our entire life."

That distinction is everything.Rebecca can be a choice.

Nadia has become an inevitability.

Rebecca belongs to the life Raya has chosen to build.

Nadia has become the emotional centre of the life he never knew he wanted.

And I love that Nadia doesn't respond with some dramatic declaration. She just gets emotional and runs into him.

Because what can she possibly say to that?

She already knows. He knows. They both know.

The tragedy isn't that they don't love each other.

The tragedy is that they love each other completely, and still cannot have the life they want.

And that is why that hug hurts so much.

For a few seconds, Raya isn't a gangster choosing duty.Nadia isn't the woman being asked to accept reality.

They're simply two people who finally stop pretending that this isn't the great love of their lives.

And maybe that's what makes their chemistry so melancholic throughout the film.

They don't need grand declarations.Sometimes a look does it.A pause does it.

A line like "some people's love becomes your entire life" does it.

And then one desperate hug says the rest.Raya finally admits what Nadia already knew: she isn't just someone he loves. She has become the life inside him.

Ahhh what beauty that scene was.....🥹❤️

Yash and Kiara are so hauntingly beautiful together. ❤️‍🩹

Movie didn't explain them much in terms of screen time...but Even in those limited screen time, their eyes, expressions , chemistry and body language told us everything...the attraction, tenderness, desire, longing, guilt and heartbreak everything...Even the deep layered foreshadowing dialogues worked as well..

Both of them somehow made me understand the entire love story of Raya and Nadia through these handful of scenes...They didn't need more scenes. They made every scene count. 💔

Yeah it's one of my favourite scene.. that's why nadia too emotionally broken when she doesn't know whether to wait for him or let him go afterwards. When ganga came to get her brother, he goes with her sister without any arguments.. She doesn't even name his son only to wait for his father.. those scenes where she waits in front of him home with her new born or lighting candles with silent prayers.. heart breaking.. few scenes only between them yet touched the heart.. uncut version would have made me cry for a long period i guess..

I cried for them even with these scenes...😭😭

Exactly....She didn't even name her son because she holds onto the belief that his father should be the one to name him. It's such a quiet, almost painfully innocent act of hope.

And those scenes of her waiting outside Raya's home with the newborn, or lighting candles and silently praying for him... she wasn't demanding anything from him. She's simply waiting for him to come back.

Nadia, who was once so fierce and outspoken with Raya, became almost completely silent... because she was emotionally exhausted and broken by everything that has happened.

She kept living for her child while carrying the guilt of what she had done and believing Raya hates her.

And all that time, Raya was somewhere carrying his own guilt, believing that returning to Nadia would mean betraying Ganga...Raya stayed away burning himself in the fire of pain, grief ,guilt and separation because Nadia became inseparable from his guilt...

Neither of them really stopped loving the other..Nadia loved him till the end of her life...Raya loved Nadia till the end of his life...They simply ran out of time, courage and circumstances in which that love could survive togetherness.

And yes... if people ever decide to write a Raya-Nadia fanfiction with an alternate-universe scenario where they actually get their chance at a life together...I am seated. Waiting. 😭❤️‍🩹

Because somewhere in another universe, I need to see the version of Raya who gets to come home to Nadia and the version of Nadia who gets to love him without having to lose herself in the process.

Give me that universe. Please. 💔

Thank you ❤️❤️

You know...even though those flaws didn't matter much to me because I connected with the film's themes so deeply, emotionally and unexpectedly, I completely understand why they became deal-breakers for others.

The uneven editing, stretched-out action and screenplay issues are probably valid criticisms.

But for me, once the film's guilt, trauma, love, abandonment and psychological unraveling hit that deeply, everything else became secondary.

I know where the film faltered. I just couldn't stop feeling what it was saying ❤️🥹.

I genuinely think if Raya and Nadia had actually gotten a life together, Raya would have been fiercely, almost ridiculously devoted to her. Not in the possessive way he initially understood love, but in the way a man who has finally found peace clings to the person who gave it to him.

Nadia was the one person who could see the terrifying Raya and still reach the vulnerable man underneath. She didn't need his empire, his power or his protection to validate herself. And because of that, she could have become the one person he willingly surrendered his power to..He would have become a softer baby inside the body of a giant powerful man...

I genuinely think he would have worshipped the ground she walked on. ❤️‍🩹

And I don't think Nadia and Ganga would have remained on opposite sides forever. Their differences were real, but their love for Raya was even more fundamental. They might never have become identical in their worldview. But they could have become allies precisely because both ultimately wanted the same thing:Raya's happiness and survival...

He would have been happiest with both the woman he loved the most...

Alas💔💔

Also....Tabahi Tabahi is a freaking drug, man. 😭🔥

I was pretty neutral about it before watching the film, and Now? ON LOOP. Again. And again. And again.

Some songs just hit differently after you experience them in the context of the story. The energy, the chemistry, the madness and the sheer physicality of Raya and Nadia...it all makes the song feel completely different now.

It's not just the chemistry or the intimate scenes..it's that raw, instinctive pull between Raya and Nadia. Even when they're simply looking at each other, there's so much tension, desire and emotion underneath.Yash and Kiara have permanently rewired this song for me.❤️

And Yeah... I'm addicted. 🫠🔥

Honestly, I don't know if it is true or not but if Toxic actually has 5 hours shot footage then I hope the makers will release it during it's digital release. A lot of the scenes needed more 'thehrav'.

Yeah, I get it. Editing is definitely one of the film's big issues.Even though I do think the fast pacing was a creative choice..the fragmented, almost breathless way of telling Raya's story can work with the psychological nature of the film.

But the problem is that the execution doesn't always communicate that intention clearly....

I'd actually be happy if they trimmed some of those extended action sequences. Keep them of course, but just tighten them a little.

But if I talk about myself personally as you can see, I enjoyed it so so much and was deeply moved by it nonetheless. A movie that gave me so much food for thought, made me look at its characters from so many different perspectives, and even inspired me to write this much... what more can I really ask for? ❤️
