I still maintain that if Alpha had released at least before Dhurandhar, the outcome would not have been so low... Dhurandhar changed a lot relative to the opinions about the YRF SpyUniverse.

(among others the hateful term "Urduwood" got coined... and juxtaposed to the term "Bollywood" and the respective movies seen in a favorable or not favorable way)

If the existence of a movie of sheer brilliance and craft puts certain movies in danger ( though I don't believe so as War 2 flopped before Dhurandhar came into existence , showing clear signs of decay of the franchise and viewer's fatigue and rejection of a stale product done to death and rotting . ) , then those movies perhaps shouldn't even exist.

It is shameful to cry for non acceptance of extremely cheap and lower quality products instead of trying to better them. Dhurandhar only exposed how starved Indian viewers for good quality movies and how for decades they'd been served terrible movies in the name of entertainment.

Infact, I wish Dhurandhar 1 and 2 could've been released every few months or so to remind people what a stellar product can be made by Indian cinema and what pinnacle of perfection is possible. It's a dream till it's realized, and then it's the new reality. Indian audience were fed jail meal for years and they ate it as they'd no choice and no better option. Their options were strictly and carefully controlled and restricted so that they won't know what "better" feels like.

I for the life of myself couldn't understand how could films like Pathan , Jawan etc. could possibly earn the money it claimed to earn. Who are even watching these movies in the theaters with their own money ? Why would anyone do that to themselves ?

Dhurandhar franchise is the reawakening , rebirth and revolution of Indian cinema that was long in waiting. It broke the chains.

I think you all are overestimating impact of Dhurandhar

The problem with bollywood is that the people who are making movies don't have connection with the audience

They are following templates like - Show religion, Show Pakistan....and you'll get a hit

But thats not how it's going to work

Mostly they watch movies themselves, declare themselves superstars and decide India is loving them

Neither Alia nor Ranbir have a 3cr FF movie yet but they are being pushed on everyone

Alia doesn't even have a 2cr FF movie

Who is watching her movies?

Their fans boast about 4000cr 200cr being spent on their favorites movies but as release date nears they fight about budget being 80cr and they have started decreasing budget of Ramayana too

ALPHA - was part of Spy Universe with just a Hrithik Cameo in 2nd half, rest nothing was from earlier films.

Franchise film, but not MALE HERO to open BIG.

Franchise doesn't mean it will open big, it would have if any big a-list star would have be in it.

RRR is Alia movie but Alpha is female lead movie with no A- list actors

Thanks for proving my point that people keep pushing Alia down our throats with false narratives

Also BOI doesn't list RRR as Alia or Ajay's movie even though he had much larger and impactful role

Bad movie and opportunistic behavior of Alia

Her need to call herself "Sita" because Ranbir is playing Ram when the movie had absolutely nothing to do with Ramayana

Her acting is atrocious too
