Everyone is wondering about the whereabouts of Maan. He did not tell anyone anything. Just up and disappeared.

Didn't Maan want to impress Shruti? He was thinking about her and wanted to take it further.

Shruti was not surprised at all that Maan left. If she is Geet, she knew it already.

Part- 48

Next week.......

Mr. Shivakumar is coming to see the finalized project details.

Shruthi has been working on it and has everything ready except for the part that Maan had proposed. That new idea he suggested has been left open until now.

Maybe since Shruti is also missing Maan and wants to see him back, she has deliberately left it unfinished for him to come back and complete it himself. She would never admit it, but she too wants Maan back in the office.

The next day is the last day before Shivakumar's visit.

At the office......

Shruthi is staring at the files....

Vicky asks Shruti, "Is everything ready?"

Shruthi: "Yes, I've done it, but..."

Vicky: "But what? It's ready, isn't it?"

Shruthi: "It's almost ready. Ninety-nine percent is ready."

Vicky: "What about that extra one percent?"

Shruthi: "The thing Maan suggested that day... I've left that part unfinished."

Vicky: "Why didn't you finish it?"

Shruthi: "I don't remember exactly what he was proposing."

Vicky: "Shruti, you were there in the meeting. You should know."

Shruthi: "I wasn't really listening to him at that time."

Shruthi: "What? You weren't listening? Then what were you doing?"

Shruti glares at him. She talks to herself....

"Just drooling over his charming personality?"

"Nooooo"

Vicky: Shruthi, now what are you thinking about? I know you don't like Maan much, that's why you don't want to include his ideas, haina?

Shruthi: what? No, Vicky, its notlikethat

Vicky: then what is wrong Shruthi?

Shruthi: "Honestly, I don't remember."

Vicky: "Shruti, what is this? We have to finish it."

Shruthi: "Yes, we do.

Vicky: then you should get it done Shruthi, Maan isn't here. I don't think he's coming back.

Shruti doesn't like what Vicky has just said.

Shruthi: "Why would you say that?"

Vicky: "I don't know, Shruti. He hasn't called. He hasn't tried to reach us.

Shruthi thinks to herself...Maybe he would answer if you called him.....

Vicky is really worried if everything will be ready before his father comes and starts complaining about him again.... and this Shruthi is also not helping this time... what's happening here?

Vicky: Shruthiiiiii

Shruthi comes back from her thoughts.

Shruthi: Iwas saying we'll finish it today. I'll do it tonight. Don't worry. Everything will be ready by morning."

That evening, Shruti sits alone trying to remember the last meeting where Maan was explaining his ideas.

"Just forget Maan for a few minutes, Shruti. Only then can you work on this."

She studies the plan carefully.

This space has to be used for parking.

This area is for the hospital.

This section is for the public park where children and families can spend time.

And what about the walking park for the elderly? The one with shaded seating areas where they can sit and chat beneath the trees?

And the gym that Maan had mentioned.

A gym for senior citizens.

At the time, Shruti had dismissed the idea, but now she admits it was a good one. They deserve to stay healthy too.

She continues staring at the blueprint.

Then suddenly an idea strikes her.

The parking lot is currently open.

Why not make it a multi-storey structure?

The ground level can remain parking.

The second level can be a gym and recreation club.

The third level can be used for community functions and weekly gatherings.

That looks good, doesn't it?

Shruti smiles, pleased with herself.

She gets to work and finally completes the file.

Yet she isn't happy.

Why?

Because even now she wants Maan to come back and do it the way he had imagined.

This is his dream project.

His very first project.

Eventually, Shruti goes to sleep.

The next day, Mr. Shiva Kumar arrives.

He isn't particularly interested in the project anymore. It has become just another company project rather than the fresh, innovative venture that had once excited Maan.

Maan had brought new ideas and a different perspective.

Now everything has returned to the company's old methods.

Mr.Shiva Kumar reviews the presentation and approves everything Shruti and Vicky submit. He asks them to take charge of the project themselves.

The two of them will be travelling to Coimbatore next month when construction begins.

Meanwhile.......

At Geet's apartment......

Rithan has been missing his buddy terribly.

He keeps asking Geet when Maan will return.

Geet has no answers.

How would she know?

Rithan begs her to call Maan because he wants to speak to his buddy. He believes Maan will come back if he asks him personally.

Geet lies and says she doesn't have Maan's number.

The truth is that she doesn't want to talk to him.

He left abruptly.

Why did he come into Rithan's lives only to disappear again?

Now he has spoiled the child too much. Rithan misses him so badly.

Why would Maan do that?It isn't fair.

It's unfair to the poor child.

But Geet should only be happy.

She never wanted Maan to become part of Rithan's life.

Then why is she worried now?

Because Rithan is hurting.

Or is she worried for herself as well?

No. Why would she be?

Rithan grows increasingly anxious because he and Maan had special plans for the coming weekend.

He never told Geet because he knew she wouldn't approve.

Maan had promised that he would convince Geet.

Now time is running out.

Rithan tries his luck one lasttime....

Rithan: "maa, Please, just call my buddy once Before this weekend."

Geet: what? But why? What's so special about this weekend?

Rithan: its somethings special about me and my buddy

Geet: What is this special thing?, If he's not here, I'll do it with you."

Rithan: But you can't.

Geet: Why not?"

Rithan: Because I want my buddy. This is something I wanted to share only with him.

Geet gets frustrated that she couldn't help Rithan, she then gets angry.....

"That's not right, Rithan. Your buddy wasn't here all these years. We were happy. Why do you need him now? He was only a temporary visitor. He's gone back. I'm the one who's here."

"Listen to me. If you want to do that special thing, we can do it together. Otherwise, forget it."

Rithan silently walks back to his room.

From that day onward, he barely speaks to Geet.

Only then does Geet realize her mistake.

She decides to give him some time.

She herself cannot stop thinking about Maan and how positively he had influenced both of their lives.

Everything had been easier when he was around.

Whenever she had work outside, Maan would take care of Rithan.

Most evenings, Rithan preferred spending time with Maan.

Now the child is bored and lonely.

He doesn't even go to the park anymore.

He stays in his room all day.

How can Geet explain to him that people must learn to live independently and not depend completely on anyone else?

Not even on Geet herself.

But Rithan is still too young to understand any of that.

It's Friday evening....

Rithan has been standing by the entrance gate from the time he came from school...

He is still in his uniform, he is not ready to come home...

Sometimes he plays with his friends and comes home...

Geet waits thinking that he would come after a while ....

Geet has made his favorite Chinese food, noodles and Manchurian....

It's getting late and so Geet goes down to bring Rithan home...

Geet doesn't find him at the playground and is worried...

Did he go somewhere in search of his buddy?

Thats not possible, the securities are tight....

Geet runs to ask the security and finds Rithan waiting there....

Geet is relieved, she goes and hugs him...

What is he doing here?

Security: ma'am, are you expecting any guests?

Geet: why?

Security: Rithan beta is waiting from evening for someone it seems

Geet: Rithan, what's this? Why are you waiting here? Have you invited any friends?

Rithan: no, I didn't

Geet: then why are you here?

Rithan: I am waiting for my buddy

Geet is happy for a second.... is he coming? Did he somehow inform Rithan about it?

Geet: how do you know that he will be coming?

Rithan: I know because we have an appointment tomorrow, and he has promised me, my buddy never breaks his buddy promise

Rithan is so sure that his buddy would never betray him...

Seeing Rithan's blind faith in that unfaithful man, Geet remembers her little sister Sheena, who also believed in Maan without any doubt..... but what did Maan do?

Maan thinks that he is always right and no one should question his deeds, Geet is the only one who has the audacity to question him, then and also now...

Maan has still not ready to accept his mistakes, thats the big problem... and on top of that he is repeating his mistakes... that too with this poor innocent boy...

This is unforgivable..... haina?

Geet: Rithan, the appointment is only tomorrow know, he will come tomorrow, you come home now

Geet somehow convinces the boy and takes him home......
