We are into the final stretch of the league phase and as many as 8 teams are still in contention to book a place in the playoffs. Today's afternoon match involves top-placed Royal Challengers Bengaluru up against the Punjab Kings. The defending champions have had a solid run so far and can become the first team to make it to the playoffs with a win today. Rajat Patidar's men have ticked most of the boxes - the batting has class and power, the finishers have done their job with aplomb while the bowlers have held their own. With 22 wickets, Bhuvneshwar Kumar owns the purple cap and has been outstanding across all phases of the game. Add Josh Hazlewood and Jacob Duffy to the mix, this team has plenty of firepower with the ball. They have added Richard Gleeson to the mix and it might not be a surprise if they do hand him a debut cap today. On the other hand, Punjab Kings are slipping down the fast slope. They have lost 5 in a row and haven't helped themselves by getting distracted with off-field issues. Batting has been consistent, but the bowling and the fielding has been a constant source of worry. With CSK, RR and KKR not too far behind, they need to find the touch that saw them cruise through in the first half of the tournament. They have already played two matches here in Dharamsala, but that advantage doesn't matter a lot in a day game today. This tournament though has been a package of surprises and we could well have another today. Toss and team sheets coming up shortly..
