Punjab Kings
Injuries/Unavailability: Lockie Ferguson missed the last game with a niggle. There is no clarity yet over his availability for this contest.
Tactics & Matchups: There is a case for PBKS to bowl Yuzvendra Chahal earlier considering he has kept Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav quiet in the past, but has struggled against Tilak Varma (who has a SR of 158.69 against Chahal). Ben Dwarshuis has dismissed Ryan Rickelton twice in 14 balls in T20s, but after a tough IPL debut, the Australian pacer could make way for countryman Xavier Bartlett should Ferguson not pass fit.
Probable XII: Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh (wk), Cooper Connolly, Shreyas Iyer (c), Marcus Stoinis, Shashank Singh, Suryansh Shedge, Marco Jansen, Xavier Bartlett/Lockie Ferguson, Yash Thakur, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal
Mumbai Indians
Injuries/Unavailability: Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav haven't reached Dharamsala yet at the time of writing. While Suryakumar is expected to be available for the game, Pandya, who missed the last two games with back spasms, was being assessed by the support staff in Mumbai as of Tuesday, pointing towards him being a doubtful starter.
Tactics & Matchups:
MI did not bowl Raghu Sharma, their Impact Sub, in the RCB game. If the playbook for the PBKS-DC game is anything to go by, they could play an extra seamer instead in Shardul Thakur or Ashwani Kumar. Trent Boult has dismissed Prabhsimran thrice in T20s, but his selection looks unlikely, particularly after Corbin Bosch's four-fer in the last game.
Probable XII: Ryan Rickelton (wk), Rohit Sharma, Naman Dhir, Suryakumar Yadav (c), Tilak Varma, Will Jacks, Raj Angad Bawa, Corbin Bosch, Deepak Chahar, AM Ghazanfar, Jasprit Bumrah, Ashwani Kumar/Shardul Thakur
