This Aditya guy will he only direct all these political types of films ? Try venture out other genre too. They are so many genre to explore. Risk it come out from comfort zone & explore . After a long time people will get bored with political films. He is typecast to direct such films.

Knowing Dhar's interest in politics, it is more likely that he will be more inclined to explore Chanakya's character....Because I mean just imagine the content he will have to play with...But I won't mind if the central character is Chandragupta Maurya himself...Both such strong powerful characters that they have scope for two leads...

Chandragupt is a powerful character but Chanakya is greater. There’s also Nand, the evil king whose dynasty Chanakya vows to destroy for good.

He can frankly use most of the Dhurandhar cast again too. RS as Chandragupt, Maddy as Chanakya, Dutt as Nand

Already a lot of movies/series had been done on both (Chandragupta and Chanakya)... Chandragupta as Ashoka's grandfather was also in SRK's movie about Ashoka Would be interesting - if it really happens - how Dhar would portray both the personalities (and which sources he will use).

Pakistan as a country did not exist during Mauryan period

I want RKR to play Chanakya to Ranveer’s Chandragupta. Pls Aditya Dhar

Personally I would really love to see Ranveer play Chanakya. It might be his most unglamorous role where he doesn’t even have a love interest but would it be a treat! He’s already played a Peshwa in Bajirao, Khilji in Padmavat… but playing a kingmaker rather than a king, one who also topples a king’s whole dynasty for good would be such a flex. The fact that Chanakya is considered the greatest political strategist would mean we see him flex his acting chops even more in a role that again requires him to be restrained but in a completely different way than Hamza.

Post Dhurandhar, where Dhar has displayed an excellent grasp of geopolitics and espionage, there’s no doubt in my mind that he’s the best man suited for the job especially for this particular chapter of our history. Chanakya also deployed spies and I swear if Rakesh Bedi is seen in this movie, no matter what role he plays, he’s bound to be suspected as a spy planted by Chanakya after Uri and Dhurandhar Dhar really has made sure people forget all his other roles except these and the OG movie where he played a spy in his youth - Tiranga starring Raj Kumar and Nana Patekar!

RKR is very versatile..and makeup and prosthetics can do the job.

When older actors can be made to play college students, it isn’t difficult to make younger ones play older roles

No news on any other casting. The project is still under development and this is the first time we ever got to know the story is probably about the Mauryan era too. The first reports of a future collaboration between Dhar and Ranveer were out prior to the release of Dhurandhar last year. Probably in October and the report said that they might work on a mythological story and we all speculated which scriptures and in particular which avatar the movie can be about just recently.

It’s only now, today in fact, that the story is coming out that it’s not based on any scriptures but rather history. The official announcement of the project is set to happen in November per the link I shared before. If this news is true as in regarding both subject and the expected announcement time then we may hear about the casting in the months to come. The main event will definitely feature all the main cast members that Dhar and most likely Chhabra have picked.
