I guess she is really relaxed after her break from politics after she lost her election.
Still its very commendable that she is so cool and sorted with her colleagues and doesnt feel insecure around them.
Anupamaa chronicles led to many getting kicked out due to ego issues.
I guess it’s just that she’s allowed to fumble, speak her mind without needing to worry about being misquoted.
In politics, every conversation is a loaded one, every word, sentence and even pauses are extremely important and you’re judged. You have to be on your toes and that keeps you on the edge in a way. Combine that with being a woman, one coming from TV industry which already has a reputation for making dumb shows. You have danced quite literally and acted to put food on your plate. It gets worse. Then you’re pitched against the Star Campaigner for your party from the opposition who is treated like royalty. Your previous work experience, your weight and body shape became more important than your work ethic and what you have to offer.
Compare that with hanging out with people who were there with you when you started out this journey, who saw your struggles and your passion. Who were with you when you embraced motherhood and embarked on your political journey, when you lost your child and later your first election too. They’ve seen you through your lows of varying kinds and the world has seen your highs. So it’s natural that your vibe around them is different. You don’t have to be guarded around them as they know you as you are - sharp edges and all.
I am sure she discussed her political views and experiences on set when they got a chance. Back then, especially post Godhra Riots, BJP was a pariah of sorts, especially Modi. Smriti went against the tide and joined BJP at such a time, when Congress would have gladly welcomed her with open arms and a red carpet rolled out too. She might have faced differences of opinions about her choices but it wasn’t enough to make things worse forever. So naturally she comes across as a different person here.
