Most actors who have won elections have always worked regardless, but they’ve also only been movie actors mostly. Smriti is the only TV actor who has not just won election and later held a cabinet post multiple times across various ministries.

She’s not left politics. She simply doesn’t have an official portfolio and platform as of now. You don’t get to go to the places I mentioned if you’re irrelevant. But not every relevant person holds an official government portfolio.

Look at Mohan Bhagawat - RSS chief - he’s I daresay one of the most influential and poetic men in the country atm, but does he hold any official government position? He’s not even an MLA or anything.
