Aren't there nth examples in the filmindustry/-ies for certain characters not being so-called 'lead characters' to make a lasting impact?
Fine for all those actors and actresses who get a role that let them shine
From which perspective is this analysis, is this from the writing POV?
Lago from Othello is a strongly written character, you see him overpowering Othello in the writing itself
But Rahman doesn't have a layered character, there's no POV of this character, the movie shows him from Hamza's perspective so we don't really know what is going on in his head, we know Hamza can manipulate him, his every action had Hamza's influence
These two characters can't be compared
If it is about how they were portrayed, again, Langda Tyagi's role was central to the story and Rahman was just a pawn in Hamza's game
Rahman wasn't even a villain for the most part, Hamza wrote his name down after 26/11 scene
If we are comparing them on the basis of who can hold attention of audience that enjoys watching reels then Rahman is like Rolex from Vikram
Saif's Langda Tyachi was, is and will always be in a different league. Rehman Dakait pales in comparison.
I agree with refusing to compare the impact relative to the two characters and their position in the movie... and even the movies are on different levels...

I don't refuse the comparison, I am trying to understand them
Perhaps the comparison is on surface level based on reaction from audience but Omkara wasn't as popular as Dhurandhar for reaction of audience to be the same for both characters
I'm not against comparisons but - imo - they should be between things/movies/performances that have something in common... what exactly do Omkara and Dhurandhar have in common??? and equally Saif's and Akshaye's performances

@red. Omkara , Maqbool and Haider .. all adaptions of Shakespeare plays, are very underrated. They are breathtaking.
