I am thoroughly unhappy with yesterday’s episode. It was deeply disappointing and honestly exhausting to watch. The only moments that carried any emotional depth or narrative sincerity were the Gayatri - Shobha -Tulsi scenes and the Munni -Tulsi interactions. Those scenes felt grounded, humane, and true to the essence of the characters. Everything else, however, was riddled with poor writing, warped logic, and unbearable hypocrisy.

Let me begin with Rithik - because his character is infuriating on every possible level. To put it bluntly, he is a loser. He endlessly complains about Tulsi leaving him, as though he were a helpless child at the time. The reality is that he was a fully grown man when she walked away. Yet the way he narrates his misery, you’d think someone held him at gunpoint and forced him to take over the business and marry Mithali. This victim narrative is not only false but also deeply irritating.

Every single decision he made was his own. Yes, the family may have applied pressure, but pressure is not coercion. He had choices. He could have walked out of the Virani house and pursued his so called passion for music. He could have outright refused to marry Mithali. He could have chosen independence and self respect over luxury and comfort. But he didn’t. And the reason is painfully obvious - he did not want to give up the cushioned, privileged life that came with being a Virani. Now that things have gone south, he wants to play the blame game.

When the business starts failing and his marriage turns sour, suddenly Tulsi becomes the convenient scapegoat for all his failures. Had he taken a stand back then, none of these problems would exist today. His resentment is rooted not in loss, but in entitlement. He is not tragic, not misunderstood, he is simply a hypocrite who refuses to take responsibility for his own choices.

As a son, his behavior is even more appalling. Here is a grown-up man who cannot even empathize with his own mother - a woman who was betrayed by her husband not once, but twice. If Tulsi had walked away leaving behind minor children, perhaps there would be some justification for blaming her. But she didn’t. He was around 20 or 21 years old when she left. For how long is a woman expected to sacrifice her dignity and self worth for adult children who are perfectly capable of standing on their own feet? A son like Rithik, devoid of empathy and emotional maturity, is nothing but a menace.

Now coming to Angad. Yes, he may be a decent husband to Vrinda - credit where it’s due. But beyond that, his moral standing is extremely questionable. He is neither a good brother nor a good son. Did he ever make a genuine effort to understand what was happening with his own siblings in the Virani house? Perhaps they didn’t reach out but relationships cannot survive on wounded ego alone. Did he make any real attempt to bridge the widening gap between himself and his family? No, he didn’t. So this constant blame shifting holds absolutely no ground.

Instead, he conveniently places the entire burden on Mihir. Yes, Mihir was wrong for cheating on Tulsi , no arguments there. But Angad’s selective blindness towards his own actions is astounding. Did he forget the public humiliation his entire family endured when he ran away from his own wedding? That decision alone caused irreparable damage, yet he conveniently absolves himself of any accountability. Mihir was wrong to call him adopted - agreed. But did Angad ever try to repair the burnt bridges with his father? No. Because somewhere deep down, he himself believes that label. By refusing to confront it, he has indirectly accepted it.

And then comes the most ridiculous part of all - his blind trust in RV, whom he proudly labels a khuddar insaan - what a bunch of BS? The irony is almost laughable. Didn’t Angad know RV’s true colours during the RV-Pari marriage track? He was actively involved in all the planning and plotting to stop that marriage precisely because he knew RV was a fraud. And now, out of nowhere, he places his faith in the same man? This is not character growth , this is sheer narrative absurdity.

A married man freeloading in his in-laws’ house is now being glorified as khuddar? Kaahe ka khuddar insaan, honestly? According to this logic, self respect has been completely redefined. The inconsistency is glaring, and the writing is downright embarrassing.

Overall, the episode suffered from extremely poor writing, riddled with contradictions, moral double standards, and a complete lack of emotional logic.

The only saving grace, once again, was the Tulsi-Munni and Tulsi-Gayatri-Shobha scenes. Those moments carried sincerity and emotional resonance.

Only one correction; Angad said "khudgarz" not "khuddar".. both words are different

One clear pattern I’ve noticed is that the TRPs for Season 2 have risen significantly after the leap, and that doesn’t feel coincidental at all. Before the leap, Tulsi was written in a far more subdued, almost apologetic manner , endlessly absorbing Mihir’s behavior and tolerating far too much emotional and moral nonsense without meaningful resistance. That portrayal diluted the essence of her character.

Post leap, however, the narrative has made a conscious shift. Tulsi is no longer timid or passive, she is resolute, emotionally grounded, and unafraid to assert herself. This is far more aligned with the Tulsi we saw in Season 1 - a woman who stood her ground, challenged injustice, and commanded respect rather than pleading for it.

It’s hardly surprising that this change is resonating with the audience. The current tracks are heavily Tuhir centric, but more importantly, they revolve around a version of Tulsi that feels powerful, self assured, decisive, and principled. Audiences seem far more engaged when Tulsi is written as a strong central figure instead of someone who merely absorbs humiliation. In that sense, the improved TRPs feel like a response to the show rediscovering the strength of its lead character.

I am happy that they are blending every character to TuHir track wise...it's a good thing...nobody is deprived of screen space ...each one has story to be told and has connections to TuHir... directly or indirectly... though this time there are so many characters and angles over S1 but they are blending it so well, none of them seems they were not part of this family or seasons ...AND it's true that it's not as much melodramtic to S1....it's emotions are relatable, the characters are somewhat relatable even some of them being negetive (except Noina)...i hope they maintain the real emotional quotient of the show as it was with relevant ideology of today...

As well, I think if Tulsi is going to Mihir in Baapji's home on his request... IMO, Tulsi should clarify the current situation of both of them... because being transparent to a businessman or lenders builds a goodwill and trust among business holders that though the person is not on good condition ...but he is not dishonest to take profit on the basis of any lie or compromise...

As well it will be noted that how Tulsi actually doesn't stand lie or compromise just to have good chance to be fit in the conservative mindset of few people... and have chance to reunite with her husband for opportunity given by others...

Aur haan...Kal ko agar Baapji ko pata laga ki Mihir jhoot bola toh kya pata Paisa, mohlat kuch bhi naa mile...

Yep, she feels like Tulsi finally not just in name but essence. That’s the difference.

S1 Tulsi would’ve never tolerated Mihir yelling at her like he did before, let alone suffered from him nearly manhandling her in front of their family even for their daughter.

Mihir himself, at least post Gen leap Mihir didn’t try to be physically violent towards her even when they were having arguments. They screamed at each other, hurled accusations and said hurtful things, all that comes with the territory, all that’s expected in the heat of the moment, even when they were at loggerheads as parents but they didn’t show Mihir or Tulsi ever crossing a line with each other and try to slap each other or push each other.

The only time I even remember Tulsi pushing him away is in Australia and that’s literally after she catches him hugging Mandira. He chases after her and tries to hold her to stop her and make her listen to him but she’s absolutely furious and heartbroken, she refuses to let him touch her and so pushes him away. Honestly can’t even blame her for that one because duh…

Post leap Tulsi is more closer to the OG Tulsi and it’s no wonder the TRPs are increasing.

Literally a new character!

No such character existed in S1!

How is he still existing now is also astonishing given that he’s said to be Bapuji’s friend! If Mihir Tulsi are in their 60s at least, that makes Gayatri and Daksha in their 80s at least! Which means this person is over 100 years old!

Tripti wouldn’t stop taunting Baa for not dying but here’s someone who has outlived her too! 😭😭😭😭😭 And he’s not even an OG character!
