GG has said soo much against Dhoni, has cried so much for credit. He even posted just few days before Dhoni ka bipoic.
But as a Coach he leaves no chance to take credit.
Everyone is a credit stealer except the one who gets blame for it.
GG was a great player, no doubt about it. He didn't need to howl and cry during his time for credit stealing. His work was speaking for him and he didn't need to prove to anybody what he had done for his team and nation.
But what happened instead is that he started coming in a negative light with all the cribbing and crying he did being "jealous" of MSD. For a second if we assume that MSD was a credit stealer, was he stealing GG's talent too?
If we see GG's background, he comes from a very well established family and hardly needs to make any further name than he already has. He was a chosen few who could represent India internationally and make a name for himself. And then becoming the head coach of the team that is the number one in the world, nothing is short of all the glory he could add to his name.
But, I don't understand why he is always angry whenever the limelight shifts from him. Right from his younger days to this time, as long as everyone is doing - "GG ki Jay" he's fine and lives to his peaceful name Gautam, the moment it shifts he starts taking his surname seriously and gets all Gambhir. This dual personality is more a psychiatric case than being just an attention seeker.
Yes bro, you coached the team to become a Championship winner, but you also need to accept the fact that the test team coaching is not your feat at the moment, because India hasn't been this bad for more than two decades in test cricket. And you have to take the blame for the same.
PS: My personal opinion, India needs to have non controversial players only as coaches. As long as they are calm people, India does really well. Be it Gary Kerstan, Rahul Dravid in the past or it's absolutely fine to have VVS Laxman. But I think players like GG, Sehwag, Harbhajan, it takes a lot for them to become greater giving away the credit, rather they want everything for themselves.
PPS: I know MSD would never agree to it. But he should try his hand at long term coaching and mentorship. He's meant for it.
