All Lexophile Dosts are free to read whatever books they like, except Channel Mod Minionite, who must read at least one dark romance book to qualify for this month's challenge.😌
I'm not really sure if we can have this conversation here, but I'm trying to read other genres apart from Fantasy, Romance, and Classics, which are like my go-to genre. Can you guys suggest good books from other genres as well?
I strictly avoid non-fiction, memoirs, and sci-fi like plague (sci-fi fantasy is an exception). So, nothing from those genres. But other genres like mythology, historical fiction, horror, mystery/crime, chick lit, travel fiction, etc., works for me!
Also, my apologies if this discussion shouldn't be happening here. Please let me know!
Love,
Niya ❤️

Hey, you are free to discuss books and what you're reading here with your team members.
Have you tried any Psychological Thrillers? You can start with Freida McFadden since her books are easy reads.

Oh, I'd love to read good psychological thrillers! And I have heard that The Housemaid is good, but the rest of the books in the series aren't that great... but, for me, if the prose/language is too juvenile, I'm immediately repulsed
That's what led to the DNFing of my first read of the month, "The Hating Game". Do let me know if the above-mentioned author's prose is good. Because I find the plot quite intriguing, even though it seems to be in first-person

I have no idea if you would like it or not, but I enjoyed it. Not only because her writing style was easy to read but the suspense hooks you from the beginning. Her book The Boyfriend was really good.
Some other authors you can try are Riley Sager, BA Paris, Sidney Sheldon, Agatha Christie (the last 2 are classic writers so you may like those)
Many people also like Stephen King.

Let me add this to my TBR then! I've been reading a few books of King and I've really enjoyed the thrills! My fav is probably Salem's Lot!
Christie is also on my TBR, though I have no idea where to start!

Lizzie, please recommend her on which novel to start with by Agatha Christie
I’d recommend starting with Poirot and then moving on to Marple. I personally prefer Marple books but for someone just starting AC it’s better to go this way. Or a standalone.Originally posted by: heavenlybliss

My recommendation would be to start with any of these:
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd - Poirot
Murder on the Orient Express - Poirot
And then there were none (standalone)
