Read the latest news and gossips from Day 3 at IIFA.
Day three of the IIFA were a bit of a let down especially considering the adrenaline filled day two that we had yesterday. From delayed press conferences to a lack luster Acid Factory media briefing to an even more dowdy fashion show, things just seemed to be a tad too slow for the IIFA set up.
Mile High Club
Sanjay Gupta and his cast of Acid Factory got in just in time for the press conference and therefore looked quite tired. The young guys – Dino, Aftab, Manoj and Fardeen – all seemed to be taking their on screen bad boy persona a tad too seriously. If there was any saving grace it was Danny Denzongpa who looked fitter, healthier and way more cheerful than the rest of his co-stars!
Not big enough
If you are the Bachchans and you want to announce your tour you only accept the biggest room in the house. And when you don't get it you simply cancel the press conference. Sources within the hotel tell us that the Bachchans heard that the hall assigned to them was a tad too small for their liking and so at the very end the first family of Bollywood decided to postpone the conference to Sunday so that they could get a bigger room and therefore even more audience covering their announcement! But the other reason doing the corridors of the hotel is that the junior Bachchans had quite a merry time after their press conference what with their mingling with Thai royalty and all … and so required some more time to catch up on their zzzzs…
Twinkle Twinkle little star
We spotted Mrs Akshay Kumar –Twinkle Khanna – at the IIFAs last night. But what was oh so very surprising and a bit naughty was that Twinkle was spotted shopping with a friend at Siam Paragon a floor below the Sarkar Raj premiere. So while she was literally in the house so to speak but just not at one of the most awaited premieres of 2008… ah well this is what happens once your hubby crosses the 35 crore mark pay cheque!
(Only) Kareena scorches the ramp
Kareena Kapoor wore the showstopper for Manish Malhotra at last night's charity fashion show. Wearing a sparkling trademark pastel off white and gold lehnga with a bright pink dupatta, Kareena looked a million bucks. And boy did she know it! In addition to Manish, Vikram Phadnis, Rohit Bal and Sabyasaachi were showcasing their stuff. But it was just Manish that managed to get things going… the rest of the designs left you feeling… nothing!
