Orey Plashtic fan, she got relief by bribing the judge but the tax authorities reopened the case in 2003. She bribed the judge again but the tax authorities once again reopened the case in 2004. Her lawyer submitted an appeal in 2008 but the court reopened the case in 2009. The tax fraud court cases against her were active until 2022 and at the same time she was dealing with a case from Enforcement Directorate (ED) for tax evasion using offshore Panama accounts and international money laundering.

Not so simple. For tax purpose, it’s the tax year that counts, whereas she could be out of India for the calendar year. Her accountant must be aware of this. But committed fraud anyway.

Why would anyone even want to look into her travel history if there was no suspicion of tax evasion ?
