My mom dad never knew what divorce is aaj woh saath mein hain and they are happy....

In our gen there is a special case fwb and situation ship....

No Ash ji, I don’t quite agree. My parents have also been together for decades, and I admire that stability. But I’ve also seen marriages where people stay despite infidelity, emotional neglect, or even abuse—just because “divorce” wasn’t an option for them. This so-called generation defined you should remain together even if you are miserable or don’t have an iota of love left in their relationships. That kind of suffering shouldn’t be romanticised either.

At least today’s kids prioritise their happiness — both themselves and their partner’s. Live-in is a choice, which in fact I support because when you live with a person, it is when you realise actual compatibility. They might be a good person but if they are lousy housekeeper or leave their things lying about, then that’s a choice you have to make. After marriage, it is difficult to change that behaviour. Sometimes it’s not about being a bad person but just about different lifestyles or habits. Friends with benefits like politics is a debate entirely about one’s perspective. Yeh situation ship kya hoti hai mujhe nahi patha. That’s a word, I think, which was invented for indecisive men / women who don’t want to commit themselves — surely this has existed before too ? Because it has a weird name now, it doesn’t mean it applies to genZ alone.

Thank you again for succinctly getting my point across! I also believe the same and wrote this. I am writing this separately because I liked your explanation (highlight in blue). I also believe that just because the indecisiveness in relationships has a weird name now, it doesn't mean it's only about GenZ because there are streaks of non-commitment tendencies throughout human history.

And I loved yours. Personally, I feel the West hasn’t introduced us to anything entirely new—drugs, alcohol, rebellion, even moral transgressions have existed throughout history in various forms. What I do think it has given us, and quite valuable too, is the idea of putting ourselves first—not in a selfish way, but in a way that encourages self-respect and mental well-being. While some people do go overboard and confuse selfishness with self-prioritisation, many have started to walk away from toxic or performative relationships for the sake of their own peace. That shift, to me, feels like real progress.

West shouldn’t be blamed for every moral depravity. At the end, it’s a personal choice what we chose to imbibe and what we ignore. If we only pick the parts that suit us and ignore the valuable things it offers, that’s on us—not them.

I was thinking about this since we were studying the thematic meanings behind the titles of some classical works. Your title could be humorous, witty or deep and meaningful. I'll go first. Mine would be: Intentionally Blank. 🤷‍♀️😂

"How to be Clumsy in 1001 ways"

"The art of laughing at odd hours, without being caught"

"The urge to give sarcastic replies for every tomfoolery".(Hence, my friends in college call me Sarcasm Queensmiley37)

"Perfectly Imperfect."
