He wants to make it like Lord of the Rings.

Bollywood is not capable of doing justice & they should stay away from the scriptures. May this never fructify.

Like a trilogy of movies ? Is he going to play a role in one or all of them ? Or just be producer ?

There is no script, so aamir is talking about they might start writing the script this year, but that's only a possibility, aamir didn't say it's definite. So the movie is going to take years before it starts filming

This is a long-cherished project of Aamir...time will tell if he will be able to realise this dream.

No, I don't want ANYONE to attempt it.

Everyone tends to show their take rather than presenting facts. And Mahabharata is just not possible to cover in its entirety in 6hrs. It's just a bad bad idea and Amir (or others too, but they aren't doing it) is the worst possible person for that.
