It was a quarter to seven in the evening when Talha parked his car in the patio of their mansion and walked with silent steps inside the house that had now become a blissful home after his marriage with Ayat, and especially after their patch-up regarding all the misunderstandings they had had between them.

He could hear his Baba making Mohid do his homework in the study room. But there was no sound coming from Roshi. He peeped inside the room quietly, not to disturb Mohid from his studies. Nevertheless, both the males looked up from the notebook and smiled at him. Talha immediately signaled Mohid to first finish his homework and then get up from the study table.

His unasked question was answered by his Baba- Roshi room mein hai. Chale jaao abhi. Mohid ko waise bhi thoda time lagega. Roshi ke saath park se late aaya hai. He’ll get up once he’s done.

“Thank you, baba.” Talha smiled and nodded towards his father and walked upstairs to their room- His and Roshi’s.

He could hear her clicking her tongue in frustration, burying her face in the pile of notes, sitting on the sofa next to the coffee table. The clicking noise of the room door closing had her look up at him. Her hair was half up, in an updo, and her bangs covered her eyes. An irritated expression on her face met his smiling one.

Assalamulaikum...” Talha smiled indulgently, face tilted sideways in adoration.

Walaikum Assalaam.” came her low reply.

“Kya baat hai? Bade dhyaan se studies ki jaa rahi hai...” he engaged in a conversation.

“Kaun si studies? Ye toh notes leke aayi hoon Mariyam ke ghar se. Studies toh tab karu na jab mujhe aagey peeche kuch samajh aaye.” she complained.

“Tum kab se university nahi gayi ho Aayat?” Talha turned serious.

“Do hafte se. Maayun ke din se nahi gayi. Aur itne se din mein itna saara kuch ho gaya, ki mere toh kuch samajh nahi aa raha.” she gave a quivering shake to her body thinking of how much she needs to cover.

He sat next to her on the sofa and looked directly at her- “Aur kyu nahi jaa rahi ho tum University?”

“Ye dekhein hain mere haath?” she showed her palms full of henna. “Chaman buaa ne zabardasti mehendi lagaayi hai, ki nayi dulhan ho... Soone haath achhe nahi lagte.” she was irritated. “Aise dulhan wale haath leke kaise jaaun University?”

“Toh kya hua Aayat. Tum agar dulhan lag bhi rahi ho toh kya hua? Tum wahan padhne jaa rahi ho ya modelling karne?” Talha was mildly irritated.

“Maar liya taana? Ho gaya aapko sukoon Noyan Ahmed?” she faked anger.

“Tsk! Roshi....” he pulled her by her elbow, pulling her closer. Something in him calling her Roshi made her melt every time. “Main tumhein taana nahi maar raha tha. Look I’m sorry agar aisa laga... But there’s nothing to be ashamed about getting married.”

“Main sharmsaar nahi hoon aapse shaadi karke... Bas shy feel karti hoon ki sab kya sochenge... You know everyone thinks I’m so cool.” she smiled.

“Tum har haal mein cool ho... Chalo ab bataao, kya pareshaani aa rahi hai notes mein.” he pulled her notes to look through them.

“Aap meri help karenge studies mein?” she smiled naughtily.

“Of course I can. Bhoolo mat, main tumhara senior hoon, and I know what you are studying.” he said seriously.

“Ok!” she pointed at her notes but was cut by Talha again.

“Kal se tum college bhi join karogi aur office bhi.” he said softly.

“Aap mujhe office mein appoint kar rahe hain?” her eyes shone with excitement.

“Nahi... Tumhari internship continue karwa raha hoon.” he was going through her notes and answering her simultaneously.

“Matlab, mujhe phir se photocopies karni hongi, Sir Mohsin ko assist karna hoga, aur Sir Farhan ke saath cabin share karna hoga? No cubicle for me like other interns?” she looked with a long face.

“No cubicle for you. I believe you do well when you are segregated from the rest.” Talha looked pensive.

“Talha!!! Aap mujhe kab tak punish karenge office mein?” Roshi was ready to throw her feet in a fit.

“Office dynamics office mein discuss karenge. Jaldi se ye portions cover karo. I want you to be up to date tomorrow when you go back to the university.” Talha meant business, and he pulled her into studies.

----

Next morning Roshi was handed over the keys to her own car, to go to university and then to office. Roshi was over the moon. Hair tucked in a ponytail, basic jewellery adorning her, she climbed her car, and off she went to the university to continue her studies.

“Roshi...” she sighed to herself in determination as she put a brake to her car in the university parking lot. “Tumhein bohot sincerely studies karni hai. It’s now no longer to impress Talha, but not to give him any reasons that you are not sincere. You are sincere, growing mature, and a responsible person from now onwards.” she patted her back, and jumped out of the car.

Four O’clock in the evening she parked her car in the parking lot of Ahmed Constructions. Even this basement held memories for her. Her requesting Talha to consider her a part of the project with Paragon Constructions... Her faceoff with Sabeeka... She smiled fondly remembering her old times. Picking her bag, she walked towards the elevator, and dang it opened to the floor she was supposed to walk in.

Walking to the reception area, she gave a warm smile to the receptionist. She greeted cordially- “Assalamualaikum Mrs. Ahmed.”

Roshi looked around her and when found nobody as she pointed towards herself- “Mujhse keh rahi ho?” she asked astonished. On the receptionist’s nod, she smiled brightly and answered- “Walaikum Assalaam... Please yaar... Aayat ya Roshi hi theek hai. Please, no Mrs. Ahmed. Ye Noyani naam tum apne boss ko hi do.” she giggled with the receptionist.

Roshi turned around at Sir Farhan clearing his throat. She greeted him cordially, and his smile was curt and only to the point. “Welcome back Miss... Mrs. Aayat. Sir Talha ko ek baar report kar leejiye. And then we’ll brief you further.” he spoke.

Roshi nodded and walked quickly towards Talha’s cabin. Remembering the courtesy, she knocked, but didn’t wait for him to allow her, as she put her head between the door and the wall and smilingly greeted him.

He immediately looked up from his work and gave her a small smile- “Andar aao.” his hand directed towards the seat in front of him on the other side of the table. She sat immediately. He put all his work aside and leaning on his elbows on the table he addressed.

“Aayat, ye brief up main office mein hi karna chahta tha. That’s why I didn’t discuss at home. Meri baat ko khule dimaag se sunna aur amal karne ki koshish karna.” on her nod he continued- “As you know, main yahan kaam ko bohot seriously leta hoon, aur chahta hoon ki sab apne work ko seriously lein.” he stopped after every sentence making sure that his intent is reaching her completely. “Iss baat se main bilkul deny nahi kar raha ki mujhe tumse bohot mohabbat hai, aur tumhari sau ghaltiyaan main mohabbat mein chutkiyon mein maaf kar dunga.” he snapped his fingers in co-ordination of his words. She smiled brightly. “But ye baaki ke employees ke saath naisaafi hogi ke unki mistakes ko main forego nahi karta, par tumhari kar deta hoon. Isliye, main chahta hoon ki tum normal interns ki tarah waise hi treatment paao, jaisa baaki interns ko milta hai.”

She sat straight, and held just a formal smile before him, like any of his employees would do. She nodded in affirmation, agreeing to what his terms were.

“Toh ab mujhe mera cubicle mil jaayega wapas?” she smiled, thinking how in the bygone days she sat with other employees, having fun with them.

“No... You will continue sitting in Sir Farhan’s cabin and report me through this door.” he showed her the new inclusion in his cabin. The glass wall between both the cabins now had a glass door too. Her smile widened seeing this.

“How sweet... Aapne mere liye ye karwaaya...” she blushed.

“Nahi... Taaki tum mere cabin tak aane ke liye chaar aur logon ke saath chit chat mein na lag jaao.” he spoke.

She made an irritated face- “Aapko meri khushiyon se kya takleef hai?”

“Tumhare paas hardly two and a half hours raha karenge iss internship mein, since you need to go to university too, dusre log university nahi jaate. I want you to utilize those hours fruitfully. That’s why I’m secluding you from the rest.” he spoke earnestly.

“Phir toh dusre cabin mein kyu, aap mujhe yahin isi cabin mein hi corner de dete. Mujhe ek cabin se dusre cabin mein bhi uthne ki zehmat nahi hoti.” she taunted getting mildly angry. And he now had an amused smile.

Tumhein apne cabin mein bitha loonga, toh khud kaam kaise karunga?”

“Achha, you mean, I am going to disturb you?” she stood up with her hands on her waist.

“No... You are going to distract me...” he smiled. “Ab itna bhi sakht nahi hoon ki office mein hoon toh mere saare emotions bhi mar jaayenge. I can’t stop feeling for you, what I already feel.” he smiled while he pressed a button on the remote control on his table, and the glasses around the cabin were covered with blinders.

He walked from his side of the table to her side and pulled her hands off her waist and holding in his. “Aayat... Main bohot mohabbat karta hoon tumse. Isko main kabhi deny nahi karunga. Lekin ek undeniable fact ye bhi hai ki tum ek behadd zaheen aur potentially best engineer ho iss firm ke liye. Main nahi chahta ki tumhari kaabiliyat koi sirf isliye kam samjhe ki main tumhein extra favours deta hoon. I want you to draw a niche for yourself.” he held her shoulder in love.

Roshi nodded with tiny tears glistening her eyes. Every time he tells her that he loves her so much, made her feel her dreams come true. And she wanted to cling on to every word of love and appreciations he gave her. She nodded vehemently at him again as she spoke- “Aap dekhiyega main kitni mehnat karti hoon. College mein bhi aur office mein bhi. Main aapko shikayat ka koi mauka nahi doongi.” and then sheepishly added- “Aur koi rules mere liye?”

He walked back to his boss chair and switched open the blinders again- “Nothing. Monday to Saturday you will have working days. No half days on Saturday. You will report here after half day from University on Saturdays. Sundays are leaves for you. I’m sure your family might want you to be at home. Aapki nayi-nayi shaadi bhi huyi hai.” he smiled naughtily.

“Ji sir. Mere husband mera bada intezaar karte hain.” she smiled.

“Wish you all the best Mrs. Talha.” he nodded.

“Thank you, sir. Ghar par milte hain.” she beamed.

“I’ll let you know at the time of relieving.” he said and got himself busy with work. And she went outside, taking up her charge.

At half an hour past six in the evening did the landline on her desk rang, she picked it and looked immediately between the glasses as she heard Talha’s hello.

“Driver tumhari car ghar le aayega. Mere saath ghar chalo.” he smiled from the other side of the glass.

“Okay!” she beamed, and packed her bag, he waited outside her cabin. They walked outside; rest of the employees were leaving too. They quietly walked to the parking lot. The rest of the employees stayed back for a couple of minutes to give their boss a head-start to leave. The little moment of solitude gave Talha the chance to quickly open the door for Roshi, and making sure of her comfort and the seat belt secured, he climbed on his seat and drove off.

“Classes kaisi thi aaj?” he asked as they drove down the road.

Achchi thi. Aapne coverup kara diya tha toh kaafi help huyi.” she smiled, her head resting on the seat’s headrest, her eyes closed.

“Bohot thaki huyi ho?” he asked earnestly.

“Nahi... Apni energy save kar rahi hoon. Ghar jaake Mohid ke saath khelne jaaungi.” she had childlike ecstasy on her face.

“Main bhi saath chalunga.” he smiled too.

“Kya waakayi? Waah! Aap Mr. Ahmed kam, Mr. Roshi zyada bante jaa rahe hain... Kahan chupa rakha tha aapne apna itna cool side?” she spoke with a new spark in her eyes.

“Main bohot family oriented aadmi hoon. Once you’ll have a family with me, you’d know it.” he teased her.

“We already are a family.” she blushed. Though she knew what he meant in teasing her, but she won’t let him win. “Aap, main, Baba aur Mohid.” She smiled. “Abhi itni family kaafi hai.” She smiled, though redness crept into her face.

“Chalo... Abhi isi small family se kaam chala lenge.” he flirted. And she just kept smiling looking on the road. They had reached home. The gates opened and they saw a waiting Mohid in the courtyard. Roshi jumped out of the car and frolicked with Mohid. The table and chairs were already laid out on the lawn, and Sultan Bhai had just then placed three cups of tea and a cup of milk, with snacks. Well, they were a happy family.

Oh my goodness, I am absolutely in love with this OS! 😍

Talha helping Rosh with her studies... WE DESERVED TO SEE THAT ON-SCREENsmiley19 I love that Talha was taking Rosh's studies very seriously, and emphasized on the importance of not missing university! Also, I love the fact that Talha decided to discuss office matters in the office itself! It goes to show how he'll help Roshi manage both her personal and professional life separately, without creating a mess out of it.

Even this basement held memories for her. Her requesting Talha to consider her a part of the project with Paragon... Her faceoff with Sabeeka... She smiled fondly remembering her old times.

^@bold - I love how Roshi no longer associates the office with bad memories. Even the supposed bad memories have become fond memories for her, and that's the kind of love she has for Talha!😍

Also, I love how she calls "Mrs. Ahmad" a Noyani naamsmiley37 That is so typically Roshi!

Talha Ahmad! Ek hi dil hai, kitne baar jeetoge! I love that he wants things at office to be professional... so he won't be giving any kind of special treatment at work! That is really the key to a great personal as well as professional relationship, and it would enable Roshi to grow and mature in her space!

Also, Talha secluding her from the rest... great movesmiley36 Roshi will pakka make sure that she wastes time by chit-chatting with people around hersmiley2

Ahem ahem... Talha getting distracted by Roshi in his cabin... That is something I'd like to seesmiley43 Some steamy thoughts in my brainsmiley36

The scenes at the office had me grinning like an idiot! This was the kind of office romance I wanted to see after the marriage, which the makers didn't give us. I adored how you balanced the professional setting with those soft romantic beats!

THANK YOU FOR THIS LOVELY OS MY ZEENUUUUUUUUsmiley31

I know that I am too late, but hey... better late than never!

I promise, next time se pakka time pe comment karungi!

Love,

Niya ❤️
