When did the downfall for GHKKPM start for you?

This is not an antagonistic topic, it's in reference to the dropping TRPs and rumours of Bhavika's return.

Alot of people will say this generation are the reason for declining numbers. Yet people forget that the timeslot change has had effect on the dropping numbers aswell.

For me and people won't like me for saying this, the downfall started when they got rid of Ishaan and the Bhosale's character then introduced Rajat track. For me the show was doing alright and good yet the change was unnecessary.

I know people love Rajat and Savi's track yet for me their track was boring and copy of YHM so wonder it did crap. If Rajat and Savi were that loved by TV audience (not just online audience) then the numbers would reflect that and their track wouldn't have ended after just 6/7 months.

For Rajat and Savi's story was just plain boring as a viewer, didn't like it at all.

Rajat and Savi had the most chemistry.

When some fans refused to accept the problematic aspects of S1 and S2 and were hell bent on disregarding the positive aspect of S2.5 with an excuse of it being a cheap copy of YHM.

Yeah, everyone has their own taste. Some people don’t like the Savi and Rajat storyline, but some of us enjoy it. There are people who don’t like the new season and find it boring, while others are enjoying it. It all depends on what people like or don’t like. Yes The show was doing well when Ishvi time getting good trps and Sure there was no need for a leap. But let's not forget, even with Savi and Rajat's story, even though it was a copy of yhm, it never dropped out of the top 5. Saraj was always in the top 3 with a 2.3 trp , and the ending had a 2.8 Trp. So, I don't get how you said it a flop.🤷🏻‍♀️

Now, with the new season gen 3, the first episode got a 1.8 trp, and that week, the trp was 2.2 because they aired 4 episodes of Saraj. But the next week, Ghum dropped to 1.4 TRP. Why? People were confused about when Savi’s story ended and when the new story started. So, the first week the trp was decent, but then it started dropping. You can’t just blame the slot change. Yeah, it’s a big deal, but it actually relieved some pressure on Ghum. The 8 PM slot used to add a lot of pressure because it’s prime time. Nd The story they copying itself isn’t great, and it was a flop in regional language too, from what I’ve heard. So idk why they copying it in first place

Also, the whole "two boys chasing one girl" thing doesn’t hit as well with the trp aunties They prefer when two women are fighting over a guy more. Even if it sounds outdated regressive, it’s the truth.

@Bold: Agree. The episode quality seems much better from what I have seen in those clips from the previous seasons, since I haven't actually seen or followed them.

@Italics: Really? A quick search on Google says it has run for 500+ episodes, becoming the most watched show on StarJalsha at one point as well. That's a long run enough. I don't know if it's considered successful or not though, as Kusum Dola ran for 700+, Mohor ran for 700+ and YHM we all know. Also, S2 of Ghum combined ran for 500+ as well. That's not really a flop as everyone is saying, I believe.

@Red: I thought we had KZK 1 once upon a time with Prerna between Anurag and Mr. Bajaj. There are others as well, I guess. You might be right as well, I seriously don't know. smiley37

Honestly, it looks like Ghum’s budget has really dropped now. They always had editing issues with the “Oscar-level” editors, they’d cut out half the good scenes. But in Season 1, the clothes and overall vibe were still decent to good. In Season 2, the cast had amazing outfits, especially Savi—she had some of the most beautiful traditional looks nd cloths. People on Reddit were talking about this too recently.

Back during the ,Sairat nd Ishvi time any of functions were grand nd the execution and outfits were on point in both S1 and S2. Even Savi-Rajat’s haldi ceremony looked well so done. But now? You can tell they’re struggling with budget. Maybe 'cause in S2 they hired well-known actors and had two shows running on StarPlus, both of which are off-air now. Maybe the budget tank idk 🤷🏻‍♀️. But this new season clearly feels low-budget.

I’m not 100% sure, but I’ve seen like 5-6 people on X and Reddit say that the original og version was flop nd slow-paced and didn’t match Ghum’s storytelling style.

Those were older days now trp aunties become sadistic. They like to watch two women fighting over a loser man, or the fl forgiving her cheating husband. They enjoy seeing the fl getting insulted again and again, and then suddenly becoming strong and giving a fitting reply to the ml. Two guys interested in one girl, it doesn’t make them happy 🤣

You have been a regular viewer so you might actually the notice the difference in production quality. Although, if they really had low budgets this season, they would not be hiring such well-known, veteran actors. All faces this season are quite known on television. I think this has something to do with their short-lived show sometime ago. Was it Deewaniyat or something? I do speculate that the makers might have wanted to promote that show more, explaining the budget issues faced by Savi-Rajat season towards the end. I saw the clips (S 2.5) the dresses they wore were such colourful rags, honestly. The camera quality was abysmal. But that 6:30 PM show tanked, got shut in months. Perhaps that's why they brought Rekha and the leap, to freshly invest and recover losses.

This season has improved quite a lot in that aspect (costumes and production quality). I have heard about the beauty of Ghum's editing though. smiley37

TRP aunties are definitely sadistic. They would not want a fictional lady to be such a priced possession that men would want to fight between themselves for. I feel sad for TRP aunties. They don't love themselves. smiley19

My mom is a hardcore fan of Ghum Season 1 & 2, and she’s also a TRP aunty, so I kinda got dragged into watching it too. That’s how I know all the drama and “kalesh.” During the Saraj phase Savi + before their wedding didn’t happen, used to get chef’s kiss outfits. But after marriage with Rajat, they started giving her weird full-blouse sarees, and Rajat’s styling is downhill from start—like full-on rainbow suits, especially that orange one. Luckily, Hitesh is a solid actor and somehow pulled it off. Otherwise, anyone else would’ve looked like a clown.

Ghum makers have done quite a few shows on Starplus, but only Ghum worked well for them during the Sairat era. Around that time, they also launched Teri Meri Dooriyaan which actually hit top 5 trp rankings in prime time. But yeah... they messed it up later, and the show ended in just 1.5 years.

Then there was Kabhi Kabhi Ittefaq Se at 7:30 PM – super random show during Ishvi Season 2 time. The Ml was a top scientist with a good salary, but somehow his family was still old-fashioned, broke, and couldn’t even pay their electricity bills?? Total confusion. That flopped in 5 months.

They also launched Deewaniyat during the Saraj time, but it got axed in just a month. So yeah, except for Ghum, their success rate is kinda trash.
