Gone are the days when movies got superhit due to face value of an actor or actress. Times have changed and nowadays people aren't dumb to waste their money on an actor's face...lol.

An actor's potential to do larger than life roles does help. Masses look up to characters who show super human courage and strength. They look for leaders.

Chhava showed the reality of the past. It's a must watch for the people who are in delusion that they can live with peacefuls.

Ranbir has a series of flops and then one blockbuster I don't know what to call him. Vicky has been smarter with script selection and knows what the audience wants. But both of them don't have the box office pull which SRK or Salman or Amir had. Ranbir couldn't get audience for his Shamshera or Jagga Jasoos, Vicky couldn't get people to watch Bad newz.
