Those nepos when they debuted were horrible too. Kareena’s acting was unbearable onscreen for years before she got somewhat better. Same with Saif he was caricaturish. No way Fardeen or Tushar had any acting ability. They were honestly never good. But the new gen is just so much worse.

Please, could members here also look at something positive to write??? It's all about lamenting in far too many threads...next generation (the "alpha" one):

Absolutely. Woh nepo hai toh kya hua? Woh bhi toh ek insaan hai, uska bhi toh dil hai, uski bhi toh feelings hai, uske bhi toh struggles hai like his nose that’s struggling to not take up the entire pixel space of my device. 😭

I don't mean Ibrahim only...yes, he is a human being, yes, he has a big nose...so what? Did Ibrahim manipulate nature to give it to him??? Basically, nobody is perfect smiley16

Infect 90s nepos were even better than the millenials nepos

AAMIR KHAN 😱

SALMAN KHAN 😱

KARISHMA KAPOOR 😱

KAJOL 😱

RAVEENA TANDON 😱

POOJA BHATT 😱

TABU 😱

AJAY DEVGUN 😱

It is myth that 80s and 90s nepos were better from first movie. They took 5 to 7 years to become better and 10 to 15 to excel

AAMIR KHAN 😱- amir khan was pretty bad in movies like love love love etc he neither knew crying or nor action nor much dance only good looks. It was only after raja hindustani in 1996(10 years after debut in 1986) that he improved and not till 2001 lagaan he was known as good actor. He survived because his heroines were damn good in movies with him juhi, madhuri, monisha koirala, karishma, kajol, ayesha jhulka etc did much better acting and dominated him till 2001 and its because of them he became success till 2001 atleast not on own acting ability. Hes lucky hes from film family so survived

SALMAN KHAN 😱- salman does not kknow acting or dance at all . he survived on good looks and girl friends and controversy

KARISHMA KAPOOR 😱- till raja hindustani she was pretty bad acting and dressing etc

KAJOL 😱 - kajal too was mediocre compared to madhuri, juhi, monisha koirala of her times in acting and dancing skills, she gets praised because of king khan association

AJAY DEVGUN 😱- ajay was no great actor till company or zakhm. Hes medicore actor whose brooding is considered great acting

If there was some good actor in nepo its anil kapoor, sunny deol, sanjay dutt, akshay khanna, hrithik etc from first 2-3 movies only

Like anil kapoor in mashaal and meri jung, sunny deol arjun and dacait, sanjay in naam, akshay in humraaz etc, hrithik in lakshay and jodha akbar excelled with 3 years of debut

Even boby deol took 4 to 5 years after debut to excel in acting by 2000 with badal, bichoo, humraaz and tango charlie etc movies

One difference between 90s nepos and now is hard work they put

Like after few movies you can see their dance improved, their acting improved with each movie, their dressing improved in each movie etc you could see they are improving

After 2010 nepo never improve after 10 years too

One shouldn't underestimate the way Internet and Smartphones influenced the behaviour of the (Indian) Gen Z generation 1995-2010 (and does it even more now with the generation Alpha - born after 2010)... there was a shift in certain basically needed 'requirements' when it comes to acting work, especially in financially privileged families.

In addition one shouldn't underestimate a certain insecurity on increasing levels of life (egologically, politically and globally).

I think there’s been a drop in quality in general over time across all professional fields; it’s a generational thing. These are kids of social media; no originality, just obsessed with copying each other. In many ways, have it a lot easier than their ancestors due to technology. So way less struggle in life.

but it’s also because of social media the terrible quality is being highlighted. There were terrible nepo debuts before as well; we just didn’t have the platform to talk about it. Has anyone seen Fadeen in Prem Agan? He was atrocious! And worse, he won best debut that year! Then there was Tushar Kapoor, and Kajol sister. Saif was a total misfit when he started.

but definitely overall they were much better before than now. I mean looking back even Arjun Kapoor was phenomenal in his debut. And Varun was perfection in SOTY.

Kitna bakwas karte ho. smiley36 Conveniently picked the first time they won Filmfare to fit a narrative. It's quite clear you have not seen movies. What is with this urge of showing off? Just making things up.

My dear I have to disagree with respect with the most you have posted.

AAMIR: was amazing in his debut qsqt and played a young lover role with perfection.

Aamir's JUST SECOND RELEASE Raakh gave him a nomination for the best male lead in NATIONAL AWARDS, he was too good in that negative dark role in Raakh.

(acting in few bad films afterwards won't turn him into a bad actor from his first two releases).

SALMAN: was perfect for a young loverboy in his debut MPK and the character suits him like T.

He is not an exceptional actor even he says the same but he was a very good DANCER throughout in all of his films in the 90s and 2000s as well when he used to put efforts, plus he got amazing screen presence from his first film itself which very few fortunate people got, it's not looks, it's his aura and screen presence, else there were many handsome faces like him who went unnoticed.

KAJOL : Was a natural actress from her debut itself, it's just that her talent got recognized only when she started choosing right projects.

RAVEENA: Same as Salman... Not some great actress, but has such immense beauty and screen presence during her peak days which is rare.

AJAY: Was as exceptional in serious tough roles in his initial films as he was in company and zakhm etc....its just that the 90s films he acted in were very formulaic, but his performances were always praiseworthy right from the start even in those films, it's just that well made well written films like company, tlobs, zakhm etc highlighted his innate acting ability.

KARISHMA : This I agree with you, she was an over actress and quite bad in it until the year 1995, but even Karishma had individuality and immense unique screen presence unlike todays' nepo girls.
