Problem isn't only in trp instead makers as well.....it's not like they only like kalesh....if it was the case then from Ekta non sense 1st gen of rishta wouldn't have worked....where they promoted couple, family and lighter issues instead of ema, multiple marriages, crimes etc etc....

It's about good craft and audience Indian aunties itni bhi dramatic nhi hai they just want a FL highlighted and rest mein you can show creativity.....ghum is the best example season 1 PPl say worked because of non sense but go and watch the way it started was really good, a guy like me who never liked tv serial watched it up....season 2-3 worked because of legacy....this one is yet to cover many things....

And sach bolu sometimes if it's not unnecessary fights there are many practical views which they show....

I wish it was that simple. There was a time where people used to rely on tv for entertainment. Those were the times you're talking about when shows with progressive mindset used to work because it targeted variety of audience that contributed to the rating. These days, many of them are turning away from television because of the abundance of alternative entertainment options and the decision of ratings are stuck with mostly at the hands of people with conservative mindset.

Trp aunties always look for kalesh and spice. Shows that stray from that concept would be removed from broadcast by the channels.

Haan actually ott changed the world....

But ITV progressive kahan tha infact now from pandemic they have started changing mindset.....Ekta shows were.....serials ka peak point....

It's no more only about mahaan bahus and player husband, 80s ki family now they also focus on career of FL, more than goddesses- flawed versions plus not a bheegi billi infact dramatic, even multiple marriages are normalised even on the cost of kids when actually divorce is still a taboo here toh mothers romance.... funny is I have seen FL playing between two men.....so I don't think personally ki trp will reject a quality content if all this nonsense can be accepted....This ghum was of next level more than men ladies were cringe....in this season they have two timer Mohit, in 1st one there was a bahu who cheated hubby after pregnancy, even FL was humiliated everywhere....

I don't understand when PPl say serials have bechari ladies and toxic guys....and if seen what modern audience like baseless love stories instead of mature topics, out of the world fantasies as family and lifestyle instead of practical stuffs, etc etc....even KS and Animal are blackbuster....

So thik hai itni bhi buri nhi hain humari aunties their values and perspective towards life is way better than youngies like us.....

Ekta ki toh baat hi mat karo. That pathetic woman ruined itv for decades. I've seen many non saas bahu shows being pulled off air because of low trps that too when ott wasn't even a thing. So I doubt aunties will accept concept revolving around female leads with flaws. Only drama I remember that did well in terms of numbers was Ek Haseena thi. It was no nonsense thriller drama best ever aired in the history of itv. I miss those kind of shows.

I stayed away from itv after bepanah. It used to air 7 years ago. I followed that show till the marriage track since the characters were beautifully written and casting was age appropriate. Then the show went downhill with saas bahu crap and lost most of its viewership before it went off air. So I have no idea how itv is doing in terms of so called woman empowerment and progressive thinking. Ghum 3 caught my attention because of the same reason you mentioned. For a change, it was FL playing between two guys that made me wonder how did they even manage to break old "itv pratha" looking closely at more shows of the era has only made me realize nothing really has changed.
