Actually, why dragging a n y actor "in this mess" (initiated for getting posts)... dubious allegations still work as click baits at least
It's not up to an actor like Vicky to 'controll' the work of writers, director and producer...neither the accuracy of history nor the final editing. Also it is not up to Vicky (and Akshaye for that matter, too) to decide the marketing, distribution and further promotion.
So, if there are complaints about story etc., please name the responsible persons. Even criticism for Vicky's acting has to consider, that it is the responsibility of the director to get the 'right' acting out of the respective actor/actress. And I think, there is no doubt, that both main actors delivered an intense display of their character.

Haven't Watch That Scene I've Watched Anarkali Dying At The End Also 60s Movies Needs To Be Little Bit Filmy
Historical feature movies don't have to be "accurate", imo...they are n o t documentary movies...still, it would be nice if they don't turn historical events into a means for propaganda (which, I think, Chhaava didn't do)

Ye lo
Bina movie dekhe hi accuracy ka title gift de diya
Little bit filmy is different than completely twisting facts. Anarkali died a painful death. In movie, they showed that Akbar let her go, on condition of never meeting Salim.

Facts are facts. If one wants to present otherwise, it is a work of their imagination, not HISTORY. It's upto each individual if they want to see facts as propaganda or truth.
But we see protests for Padmavat where (in movie) Khilji didn't even see Padmavati & nobody bats and eyelid when Kashibai dances with Mastani. 🤦🤷
