Yes - it worked for me. I watched every scene in all the episodes and awash with emotions. This did make me feel for so many characters including Mehnaz, Rabi, Farah, Sonu, Moon etc as well as Kaami .
I loved ZPKB as well (other than a few episodes where things got dragged and where the closure to some serious issues are given in 5 mins) but I understand that the purpose of that drama was to educate and entertain. My point is that TMNON was not such a drama and it had a different purpose (something Sultana S initiated), to highlight that each of the mob's victims are living breathing humans with hopes, dreams motivations etc. Its easy to get tangled in the mob mentality.
In the opening shots, it showed Sonu Moon Dancing, Rabi recording and Kaami leading a mob, it also ended exactly the same way but this time it was Sonu, Moon and Rabi running from the mob which was instigated by Kaami. In the middle they went on the track of each of 4 protagonists - Sonu, Rabi, Moon and Kaami and their lives their motivations, their households and how they were linked to each other.
If your expectation is that the villain of each plot line is given his due, then probably this did not satisfy. Ehsan, Moon's rapist did not get their just due but I don't think the drama was trying to check a list that every bad guy is punished. If that were so then they would have shown the mob being identified and punished as well. But that was not what MA's goal was.
But anyways - sorry you found it lackluster. It was one of the best dramas I have seen in PTV in years.
