Such an emotional ending. It started on such positive note but ending made me cry

Such an impactful episode. This is the truth that no one escapes the mob. Hats off to Sultana S, Mustafa A and Saife H and all the actors and the team.

Just an amazing drama.

When kami was provoking the gathering I was hoping Ehsaan would get up and counter him. N I did think Ehsaan would die trying to save Sonu, but didn't expect sonu, rabi n moon having such tragic end.

I guess the makers wanted to leave an impact in the mind of audiences. If they wld have shown a happy ending ppl wld have been focused on sonu and Rabi's happily ever after and the message wld have been lost.

For me it didn’t do justice to the closures of many characters. Even Ehsaan’s ending left no impact because it was overshadowed by so much else. Farah wasn’t even in the last episode.

It’s okay to applaud a good story which this WAS, but the ending definitely wasn’t handled well.

We can agree to disagree about the ending. I think it was great. In the second last episode they show closure for Farah and Mehnaz that they will bury the 25 year old murder for the sake of their children. I am not sure what impact you wanted on Ehsaan's death but he died trying to save Rabi and Sonu along with Taya ji. That's how parents are - doesn't matter if they have murdered someone 25 yrs ago but they will still try to save their children.

As for Mehnaz and Farah - what more you wanted to see ? two broken mothers grieving not sure what the intent would be for such a scene.

This drama was short and very effective without any dragging that we normally see in a drama. Just perfect IMO however very tragic end.

Go back to the story on how it started. The writer introduced a male rape victim and we followed his story. Various ups and downs and finally he got a win. This episode he was back to normal, having made peace with his past, and was embracing his old life. Do you think the ending of such a character to be the same as that of Ehsaan, a murderer, is justified? Don’t you think the closures should have been vastly different?

The inclusion of the mob angle felt forced to me with one too many deaths that were unnecessary and instead of leaving impact it left me quite confused keh how that even made sense.

The Ehsaan-Farah story needed a better closure because the karma for this man was completely overrun by many other characters dying HIS death. The very same. It cheapens the build up to his end.

I don’t have any problems with Kami and his mob. I just think the direction it took was purely for shock value and not well knitted into the parallel stories in the show. And for this reason this was the weakest episode of the drama for me.

I’ve seen many dark themed shows. Take Dil Na Umee Tou Nahi for example. You can tell an extremely dark story but the parallel stories have to come together in a logical way at the end. And for me to have the whole cast dying in the ending is like a cop out by the writer just for the sake of shock value. You can do messaging very effectively by staying true to the story as well and the character arcs. Bilkul aik hopeless depressing angle de dena (which didn’t even hit me because of execution flaws), se kahaani amar nahi ho jati. It can be done by giving the audience a glimmer of hope as well. Jis ki in this story definitely jagaa thi. At least for characters like Moon. His death was completely unjustified.

This is the reason shows like this have poor views and don’t do well. People crave for reality inspired fiction magar a balance should be there because end of the day you’re giving a good message but also within the realm of entertainment. Dono ko hand in hand jana chahiye. Look at Zard Patton ka band. So much reality there but there’s also hope within the messaging. These are shows people remember. Koi shock value ya depress honay ke liye tv dramas nahi dekhta, no matter how important the messaging is.

I think if our writers strike a good balance they can find more audience with such shows. Warna shuru honay se Pehle hi people will write them off. I started this because I liked Zard and same writer. Magar yahan pe writer decided to go in completely alag direction smiley36 Most people won’t even watch this now because who wants to start binge watching a show where everyone - literally everyone - dies? Kaun acha tha Aur kaun burra… koi farq nahi parta because Sonu died same as Kami. Ehsaan died same as his innocent bro. Moon ko aap ne MAAR diya while his molester is alive in jail.

Khair I’m glad it worked for you. Mere liye tou bohat lackluster tha.

You do have a very good point. I was thinking of watching this show after the entire episodes were aired. But ended up watching it before. But if i would have waited and would have come to know the ending inevitably, then I wld have lost interest in watching the show.

Yes the end was underwhelming, that was my first reaction after the episode ended, but I guess the makers wanted to shock the viewers into facing the gravity of mob justice/ violence. That's also y I guess the first half of the episode they made it so rosy, showing 3 aspiring youths, looking forward to build a successful and happy life ahead, that is brutally cut short by senseless violence. Ppl r discussing that right now. But yes in the long run I don't think ppl will be re-visiiting this drama or many who haven't watched wouldn't be interested in watching after knowing about the tragic ending.

So yes they could have given the msg, by showing the deaths of ehsaan n Taya and a happy ending for rabi, sonu & moon.

PS: my mind keeps going back to sonu & rabi's moms and laddu and how shattered they would be.

Yes - it worked for me. I watched every scene in all the episodes and awash with emotions. This did make me feel for so many characters including Mehnaz, Rabi, Farah, Sonu, Moon etc as well as Kaami .

I loved ZPKB as well (other than a few episodes where things got dragged and where the closure to some serious issues are given in 5 mins) but I understand that the purpose of that drama was to educate and entertain. My point is that TMNON was not such a drama and it had a different purpose (something Sultana S initiated), to highlight that each of the mob's victims are living breathing humans with hopes, dreams motivations etc. Its easy to get tangled in the mob mentality.

In the opening shots, it showed Sonu Moon Dancing, Rabi recording and Kaami leading a mob, it also ended exactly the same way but this time it was Sonu, Moon and Rabi running from the mob which was instigated by Kaami. In the middle they went on the track of each of 4 protagonists - Sonu, Rabi, Moon and Kaami and their lives their motivations, their households and how they were linked to each other.

If your expectation is that the villain of each plot line is given his due, then probably this did not satisfy. Ehsan, Moon's rapist did not get their just due but I don't think the drama was trying to check a list that every bad guy is punished. If that were so then they would have shown the mob being identified and punished as well. But that was not what MA's goal was.

But anyways - sorry you found it lackluster. It was one of the best dramas I have seen in PTV in years.

I wish Kami got his fate instead of killing off sonu and rabi

ending was fine but it was bit too rushed tbh. nobody escaped the mob neither physically nor mentally. i kinda found that it could've executed bit better.

The thing with content that does good messaging is that it has to REACH its audience. If nobody watches it, there’s no point. TMNN was by far the best show in this trilogy but unfortunately with this ending it’s fallen short of becoming a timeless ptv piece. Nobody is going to go back and watch it again and again because of how it ended. People who were waiting to binge watch it are simply NOT going to give it a try.

Which is why yes, shock your audience, sure magar aik balance hona chahiye. Where you get the messaging across but you figure out a way to make it bittersweet at least. MJ and Nadaan were far darker imo but the endings were still a bit hopeful. And hope does not take away from impact. At all. It makes storytelling powerful. Out of the three TMNN was on a more lighter note, brighter and had such larger than life characters. To pick this particular one for the shock value element is a little bizarre for me kyunke it doesn’t even sink in. And if it doesn’t sink in, uss ka impact kum hota hai aur confusion zyada.

It’s unfortunate really because if it hadn’t been this morbid I would be coming back to this story again and again and also recommending it to people. Now I can’t do either. Because the ending doesn’t justify the journey for so many characters imo.
