Okay , she stayed at a friend's home or AirB&B (not clear) and left her diary there. A woman who later stayed in the same room got hold of that diary and tried to sell it. So it could be called stealing

But the question is why would she leave her diary with such sensitive contents, willy-nilly like that?

Nope not verified. Snopes arbitrarily claimed Ashley's acknowledgment in her letter to the judge that her stuff ended up online serves as authentication of the claim when it doesn't because Ashley also says in the letter that her thoughts were misrepresented . So that still leaves room for fake inserts .

Well yes she did leave the diary there. The next occupant found it and tried to sell it to the Trump campaign. When they didn't respond she gave it to Project ' Veritas '. She didn't steal it steal it as in stealing from her purse when AB wasn't looking but she took possession of it and tried to sell it which is stealing in the legal sense and hence the sentence.

Hunter is an addict so it's not surprising if he didn't think of erasing what needed to be erased. Not that that would make the info disappear, it could still be retrieved. Can't imagine Ashley leaving the diary behind if she had actually written about molestation and the showers in it.

Yes Snopes verified the contents (including the showering part) and changed it's rating from Unproven to TRUE (based on testimony provided by Ashley Biden herself)
