The respective fans may get excited (which would be understandable), but Ajay's work as a director didn't really incite a lot of audience to flock to the theatres (neither did Akshay's acting work the last years)...and it got announced at a time where Singham Again is still in theatres struggling to get more than a pretended success.

Also, it seems to me that Vicky becomes a means to enhance the future quality of a movie after the recognition his acting prowess eventually got.
