Sonam Kapoor’s father-in-law, Harish Ahuja, a prominent Indian businessman and owner of Shahi Exports Pvt., recently made headlines with his purchase of an £21 million ($27 million) property in London’s affluent Notting Hill district according to reports by Bloomberg.

This acquisition is one of the largest residential deals in the UK for 2024, bucking the overall slowdown in luxury home sales.

The eight-storey residence, formerly owned by a UK-based charity and religious order, spans over 20,000 square feet and is located just a short distance from Kensington Gardens.

A UK filing confirms that the purchase took place in July. Harish Ahuja’s son, Anand Ahuja, and daughter-in-law, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, are expected to occupy part of the property once it undergoes redevelopment. A portion of the building may also be converted into luxury flats, according to people familiar with the family’s plans.

He must be freaking rich to afford a house in London considering how expensive the houses are in London even while renting let alone owning. Since her husband had business in London way before he got married maybe this is just one of the investments they are making. Sonam really hit the jackpot not just cos he’s rich but also seems like a grounded guy.

Exactly, movies hit ho na ho - her wedding hit hai and her husband Anand Ahuja seems really caring grounded and thorough gentleman

I hope she will let it allow anand style their London home. The home in India was a bit too much out of place.
