I hope, someday in the future, he gets to go there with his kids and visit the place his father and ancestors hailed from.

Such a rarity in todays times when everyone is bad mouthing each other..no wonder he is a global king!

PS: he does say he has been to pakistan many times..he just spoke about his time in lahore, peshawar, karachi with his dad when he made trips when he was 15 & 16

I'm not against that this little conversation surfaced because indeed it is a positive approach, but it should come with full info about when it happened to show how much has changed inside India in the last 11 years.

His father was very clear that he didn't want a partition already as a young boy (being the only one in the family, though)...he was just 16 when he left home to join those who fought for a joint independence. Meer got known for (a short rundown through KI):

Nonviolent Resistance: He was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan (Frontier Gandhi) and the Khudai Khidmatgar movement, committed to a united India.

Political Participation: He ran for office in the Lok Sabha elections, famously losing to India's first Law Minister, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, an event he reportedly found honorable.

"Youngest Freedom Fighter": At 16, he left Peshawar and journeyed to Kashmir, embodying the spirit of activism, which Shah Rukh Khan often highlighted.

Post-Independence Efforts: He also ran small businesses, including a canteen, and was a man of vision, although his business ventures weren't always successful, teaching his family valuable lessons.

There had been 2 visits in Pakistan with his father - 1978 and 1980. Meer never was a Pakistani, he always had been an Indian born in Peshawar (India/British Indian Empire at that time) and then living in Delhi. So, everybody who says/writes that SRK should "go back" to Pakistan is an ignorant troll.

As much as I would like another approach between the two countries (a more positive one), I just imagine the amount of open hate SRK (+ family) would get in the current climate in India.

This invitation isn't a current one (from 2013, sic), so even before SRK got hatefully labeled as anti-nationalist in 2015:

https://www.koimoi.com/bollywood-news/shah-rukh-khan-wants-to-take-his-kids-to-pakistan/

I wonder why it gets pushed to become viral just n o w (and conveniently without giving the fact that it had been a thing from 12 years ago) so that gullible people would flood social media with troll/hate posts against SRK...

If people would do some research, they would come across of all the articles published in december 2013 about that.
