Shruti and Aadhya are the only sane and relatable characters as of now. Infact, quite impressed with Shrutiâs patience and behavior, ahe has not yet insulted Anupama and sternly asked her to leave, neither insulted these two losers when they are romancing behind her back. If it was any other woman, wouldâve lost her shit by now.
Yes... And every relationship is transactional to varying degrees. Even friendships require time, effort, and presence in moments of necessity to sail through. Parents expect children to take care of them in old age. How do people think that one-sided dedication in marriage or one-sided understanding by a child about the mother's never-ending obligation toward her abusers will make the relationship survive? It is only human to expect reciprocity.

I have always liked the choice of words used by Shruti and the calm composure while talking to Adhya. No long lectures on moral or social science mixed along with parenting making the conversation monotonous. Loved how clearly she articulated to Anuj as well that the mother that Adhya needs is her and not Anupamaa, which is true. Majboor stood there shell-shocked without any counter answer when faced with the truth, just like his ex-wife who freezes if anyone says truth to her.
