A really good episode today after a long time as everyone said.... One I am very personally attached to actually.
I would like to start this by talking about Urvashi. I am sure she would have been a very proud mother today. Also very happy, to see Jhanak have such good people in her life who unconditionally support her from the bottom of their hearts, knowing how good she is. One she didn't have herself while growing up. This makes me curious about her, Shrishti's, and Guruji's past. Hope they shed light on it. It makes me wonder whether Urvashi would have had the strength to survive and thrive in her career if she had people like Ani and Chotton around her too. I just remember the saying my paati used to give me as a kid.. "The greatest wealth you can have in this life is genuine people who care for you and value your life and death". I once again reaffirmed the fact that people around you can shape a person from today's episode for that matter.
The way Chotton was so happy to see Jhanak succeed warmed my heart. He's a good man. We need more people like him in this world. Kudos to the actor who portrays him! He's a personal favorite of mine besides Appu and the Leads now. Being the Good man he is, he calls Ani to ask him to come see Jhanak. And the following conversation between Ani and Chotton was very telling to say the least... Ani wants to come and see Jhanak but is tired of problems being created and having to answer questions. How can he then expect Jhanak to have the patience to answer them? Kinda ironic... Anyway, he relents upon Chotton's insistence and comes even knowing Arshi and Shrishti are there. And this man still wants to marry Arshi and doesn't love Jhanak. De Nile is a river in Egypt I say....
Jhanak did the one thing we have all been expecting for ages... and Ani was right on time to hear it. Providence imo. This speech was such a meaningful scene. And also, one that lifts Jhanak up from the blabber/fight she had with Ani a couple of days ago. She is not blind to his efforts to help her and thanks him for everything he has done for her. Now Ani cannot say she is Ehsaanfaramosh. He needed to hear this to know that his efforts were not futile, though highly resisted.
The best moments in the entire episode for me were two. And one of them was when she took the time to openly thank Chotton and consider him her uncle even if not by blood. Chotton is such an essential but underappreciated person within the Basu family, and I am all up for it. This man deserves this and much for doing everything he can for Ani, Jhanak, and every member of the Basu family. My eyes teared up just like his and this was the first time it had ever happened to me while watching the show, because no one ever says the words to his face, only insults that he is handyman. Just like the Shrishti said in her speech in the following scene, what is wrong with being a handyman? Just like a maid, it is an essential job full of handwork no one is willing to accept. I respect Chotton all the more for it! No one can tell me otherwise.
You go Chotton!!!
I hoped she would also mention Appu, Alas!
Jhanak shines so brightly when she is away from such a depressing and toxic environment, and it shows in how she speaks today. She may not have prepared a proper speech, but the words came from her heart, and I think everyone in the crowd could understand it. I also loved the way how she expressed the importance of dance in her life. Dance is a part of her life, one that is mixed in and defines her soul, herself. This is exactly the reason why she will always be better than Arshi. The reason why Ani loves her dance is because the dance is not just a performance for her, it is an extension of expressing her essence. He can see that and be lost in it. Not everyone can pull it off.
After this, important guests are called on stage, and imagine my shock when the Guy sitting next to Jhanak is called Arnav and to my surprise is an actor. Too close to my OS man..,.. bring it on. He seemed smitten with Jhanak too. More suitors, more fun, more chances to see Jealous Ani. Is it only me who wants this marriage saga to extend so we can get more time to see Ani develop his jealousy and love for Jhanak?
Then comes the speeches. Shrishti is a viper; she is so sly and clever with words. I liked it for a change, unlike other people in the forum. She killed multiple birds with one stone. How beautifully she praised the company and give a social message while insulting Jhanak and making sure Ani and Arshi's relationship is not affected? She is good. No wonder. However, the logical fallacies in her speech brought about her downfall later in the episode.
Arshi on the other hand, is not so subtle. Everything about her screams Jealousy and insecurity today. From her hairdo to that hideous orange dress and her reactions while Jhanak thanked Ani, described her dance and her talking about Jhanak's housekeeping duties in detail. She deserved the silence she got at the end of the speech. She just dug a grave for herself. You need to learn a lot more from your mother girl. I was too irritated to watch her speech that I ffed Ani's expression too. But I hope he is totally disillusioned about this mother-daughter duo now, one that he did not want to trouble in the beginning of the episode.
Every time I see Guruji on screen I am repulsed by him. There is a special place in hell for negligent and abusive parents. It's one thing for Basus and Mukherjees to hate Jhanak; they are not close blood. But him? The way he smirked when Shrishti and Arshi were berating Jhanak, my blood boiled. This coward knows he is her father, yet lets his flesh and blood be humiliated and takes perverse pleasure in it. Chi...
Next comes the second-best scene for the episode, with nothing much to say. Loved how Jhanak replied in a dignified manner in English to the reporter's question. Granted, who would want to be a maid? even if its a respectable job. There is still a stigma associated with it. And loved how she ended the episode by proudly saying she is her mother's daughter; Urvashi Raina- a great dancer. And that Shrishti is her aunt, opening a can of worms. This is going to backfire spectacularly, considering the theme of the shoot, most will support Jhanak and not Shrishti-Arshi and we can already see glimpses of that today.
Hopefully, tomorrow is going to be exciting as well!
