Anuj giving false hopes to Shruti again - Page 2

Anuj Kapadia is an indecisive man. He has been honest with Shruti about how he feels but he has still not taken a decision from his side on marriage. The way he is behaving presently looks like he wants to pull Anupamaa back into his life by hook or crook. He wants her to fix things that have gone wrong in his and his daughters' lives because she ran away - Adhya's mental state and his compulsion to get hitched to Shruti. For that, he is ready to go to any length to keep Anupamaa close. Be it giving the job to Toshu deluding himself into thinking that he won't commit any fraud or throwing a whole event so that Spice and Chtney can participate and by extension Anupamaa can be kept close. Should he fail in achieving what he intends to do he has kept the marriage card with Shruti open. All of that makes him a very calculative man at this point.

What's laughable is that he underestimates Anupamaa's obsession with Shahs every single time and never accounts for them while making his ridiculous calculations. Anupamaa will go back to Shahs a thousand times even after being insulted and abused to the extent of cruelty. She would wait for them to make one call to her and she would run. Toshu howled his lungs off at her face, yet she would go back to the same house again and again - Poti ke liye. While when it comes to Anuj and Adhya she has unrealistic expectations for them. Dare they open their mouths in disagreement to her actions, dare they make one mistake of raising even a half finger at her, she will pack her bags and leave and that too would be a favor on them - Aapki Khusi ke liye. There are three more kids waiting back at home who would start needing her the moment they see her. Rectifying Ansh, keeping Ishani happy, and mending the relations of Mahi and V will all fall on Maa's shoulders. Getting justice for Dimpy, Adhik, Titu would be her jimmedaari. There will be added issues of Baa and Bapuji's health. V might start having mental health/marriage issues again which might need Anupamaa's urgent attention. Where in all this will Anuj and Adhya find enough space in her life?

Even if let's give Anupamaa a long rope and accept the narrative of the show that she loves Anuj and Adhya a lot, where does she have the time, will, and mental capacity to draw the so-called boundaries that Anuj Kapadia expects? The only reason she is doing the pretense of udaan is because Shahs have not missed her enough. The moment they show signs of needing her, she will back standing on one foot for them. If she could not leave that house full of adults on their own, how she will be able to distance from that house which now has her pota-poti who would love and need her 24 / 7 and now they are even younger than Adhya so they would need more attention that her, a thought that was not extended to Adhya will be extended to them.

Now if Anuj wants to pull Anupamaa back to his life he would have to compromise 100 times more than he compromised previously. He would have to accommodate for way more than he did before. Both he and his daughter will have to shred off even the last drop of self-respect that is left. That's the price of loving Anupamaa that they will have to pay, that too while keeping their mouths shut without a complaint or without expressing their opinion. Even the purest emotion of love is not worth it. Not just Anupamaa's heart beats for the Shahs, but her every body cell and her reflexes work in perfect sync with the Shah family no matter they abuse her or shower praise. For good or for bad, in this life Anupamaa belongs to Shahs. Whether Anuj behaves like a hero or becomes a villain to get her back he won't be able to change the dynamics. In light of all this Adhya certainly deserves better.

It's almost as if she divorced him and is currently under no obligations to satisfy his love/need for her lol. It's almost as if Anuj is an ex and Pari is her grandchild. How did your post manage to blame her for his creepy behaviour?

When I used the word “calculative” for him, I certainly did not use it in a positive light. I did not blame Anupama for the moves he is making. He is trying to pull Anupama back into his life, while also keeping the marriage card open with Shruti. That’s not a laudable thing to do for sure. There are things that he admits like he gave job to Toshu for Anupama and there are things that he does not admit like he is throwing the event to keep Anu close. All I am saying that whatever he is doing, comes with its consequences. Baggages as they both fondly call them are bound to be pulled back into his and his daughter’s life as a result of him trying to act oversmart. Sorry I cannot write beautifully while describing her baggages and her matka balancing life because that’s not how I think about them.

It goes quite the same for Anupama too. Like going to Toshu’s house for Poti ka moh, comes with its own merits like him hovering near her face and shouting like a maniac, character assassinating her in front of her boss while being warned repeatedly and something else might also being coming up for which she may have to take jimmedaari, no matter how much she denies.

Sure. You cannot write beautifully about something that is integral part of her life— children, grandchildren. But your tone has more aprehension for her for not cutting off her children qnd grandchildren than it does for a divorced guy in his 50s trying to force his way into his ex's life while keeping another woman hanging. Integral does not necessarily mean beautiful. Forget a fictional character if a part of my integral reality is ugly, I won't call it beautiful for the sake of it. Her children are abusers and criminals. I do certainly have apprehension for her for at the very least not distancing herself from them. Her grandchildren are very young for now. Her need to meet them is understandable, yet even that association comes with the cost of being verbally abused, and character assassinated at regular intervals of time. Not to mention that also brings an inevitable comparison between her relentlessness to go back for the "moh" of her grandchildren vs leaving her adopted daughter at the first instant. So there are certainly a lot of things that make me apprehensive about her character. Again going by her track record her association with Shahs has not been limited to her children and grandchildren only. It goes way beyond and an even bigger problem is that it is not healthy. I am not even looking forward to equalizing my apprehension for her with other characters. There is no way I can look at her obsession in a positive light.

Coming to Anuj Kapadia, I will reiterate, that no matter what Anupamaa did previously, through actions and words she has conveyed that she does not want to go back to his life. He is using underhand methods to get back to her, while not giving clear answers w.r.t marriage to Shruti. When someone so clearly asks you to stay away, you stay away. What he is doing is :-

(a) ETHICALLY WRONG

(b) Comes with consequences for him and his child where his child's well-being is even more important as she is still a minor and is dependent on him for the decisions he makes for both of them or the direction in which he drives their lives. Anupamaa has a lot on her platter and previously had unrealistic expectations from him and CA to accommodate. Since she is clearly incapable of drawing the line he once upon a time expected her to, it's now time he draws one with her, since she is out of their lives.

I am not talking about what fayada or benefit he would yield while making these calculations. I am saying he should STOP. For every damn reason, he should stop. What he is thinking is morally wrong and detrimental.
